Expected authentic Chinese food with the large number of China tourists that usually come to Phuket and this is a China restaurant in central phuket. But don’t bother! Had a late lunch and spoilt our mood for the rest of the day. Ordered FRESH orange juice smoothie which was obviously sweet processed orange “juice” for 95thb! Staff kind enough to take back the drink but everything just continued to went downhill when the food arrived. salted vegetable fish soup 酸菜鱼 was bland and did not have any taste of salted vegetables even though there were loads in the soup. The fish (obviously frozen fish) was not fresh at all and was clumpy and had some smell. 辣子鸡 deep fried chicken with chilli, although fried nicely was totally bland. Best part of the meal was the mantous and even those were just ok… soup dumplings were tasty enough but skin super thick. Do not waste your time, money and stomach space here. Regretted choosing this place in our rush while hungry for food. That meal was 1000thb for 2 and we could have a decent seafood meal at any of the seafood restaurants...
Read moreWe passed by this restaurant many times; finally we decided to get inside. The food is tasty and nearly original. The service is excellent because one of the waitresses is able to provide the information in both Thai and Chinese, and she tries to upsell more of what’s good here. We were talking about why the kitchen is so small; that's why we know that they have the kitchen in the rear of the restaurant as well. Plus we were thrilled to hear that they have the Chinese chef in the kitchen, not only a Singaporean or Thai chef like many Chinese restaurants we used to eat at. Afterward, we checked on the reviews, but they got the unbelievable results about prices, quality, service, and more. For me, I don’t mind spending money on this price because it’s normal for Chinese or Hong Kong restaurants; the quality is acceptable in the mall like this; the service maybe has been upgraded and trained for the staff. Pork rib noodle soup is highly recommended for me. The noodles are so delicious, smooth, and tender, while the soup smells amazing...
Read moreI have been going here for years. They got killed during CoVid as the Chinese clients disappear. Like many it was thought decisions on how to keep open.
Having lived in China and Taiwan (and Hong Kong) for many years I know what real chinese food is supposed to be. These guys understand and they are moving standards back to where they should be.
Not having been in a while I took at old friend there for the first time. We had Xiao long bao (Shanghai style dumplings - my favourite), Gu Lao Rou - the classic sweet and sour pork (which they do in a very no standard and delicious way), Yang Zhou Qiao Fan - mix fried rice. My friend was impressed w every dish (and he has spent 30 years in asia so he knows what chinese food can be).
So I would strongly recommend and on very good reasons.
Don’t listen to bad reviews during and just after Covid....
