On the table Tokyo Café — Restaurant in Wichit

When I first visited this place 6 years ago I was so impressed. The food is so well cooked and the place is so chilled…so every year when I went back for vacation I would definitely revisit this place.

But there will be no next time…we went there for our dinner 9 Dec 2024. We ordered smoked salmon pizza and the hamburg gratin w curry rice …something like that.

First it is the curry rice. When we spoon the rice we are kinda shock, the rice is so humid and they sticked together as it looked like having placed in the bowl for long time. Absolutely failed to serve this kind of rice to customers, especially to an asian customer where rice is their main food. The curry sauce is just warm. Sorry to say but they insulted the japanese curry.

Ok then we switched our focus to our favourite smoked salmon pizza which we order every single time..when the pizza arrived, it is lukewarm. The restaurant is not even yet close to closing time! This time we did not tolerate so we express our opinion and ask them to do something about it. We wanted them to remake one, but eventually they just reheat it. This time the smoked salmon is cooked..but the pizza is just warm!

Totally unacceptable.

The waiters n waitress are kinda young, not sure about it but seem they do not care about the image of the restaurant. Laugh so loud and nonstop chitchat. Cause a bit nuisance to the customers.

The only constant is that everything will change. Feel sad to see this restaurant become one of the ordinary restaurants. With this pricing, I would choose other...

Ok so .. my friend Olga and Jill we were running around in the Phuket area and we decided to come here for lunch being it was in the mall and we had to get some other errands done!

Coming into the mall with air conditioning we were frozen so we decided to have a place that served some really good soup !

So I had Tom Yum 😋 spicy 🌶️ version and Olga had the non-spicy version of the same soup which was so funny because I was ordering a non-spicy soup with lots of spice in it and she was ordering the spicy soup with no spice in it 😂😂😂

So I decided to get the spicy 🌶️ soup 🍜 of the TomYum!!

Jill got a vegetarian dish and she quite enjoyed her dish as well but the overall the food here is clean food no MSG which is a really big plus for us because none of us wanted the MSG in it !

I would highly recommend 💦👍🏼😍if you try this place I would definitely go back if they have any of these in Bangkok which I will take a look at ! But I would definitely come and try this different items on the menu!

I had one of the worst service experiences I’ve ever had at this branch of On the Table (Central Floresta).

When we walked in, we waited a while with no greeting, no “how many people,” no offer to seat us despite many staff being present and unoccupied. Eventually, we chose our own table, and only then did a staff member come over, ask how many people, and drop the menus on the table without any courtesy — as if we were there begging for food.

When I asked for a soup recommendation, the staff’s first reaction was a tsk sound, which is both rude and unprofessional. After taking our order, the staff didn’t even bother to repeat it back, which is basic service protocol.

What made this worse is that the manager witnessed the entire incident. When I reported it, she gave a flat, insincere apology — clearly only because it’s “protocol.” There was zero sincerity, no corrective action, and no real sense of care. As a manager, her role should be to uphold standards and protect the restaurant’s reputation, but she did the opposite.

If I were the owner, I would seriously question whether this manager deserves her job. A chain like On the Table should not tolerate this level of disrespect toward...
