located very close to the jw marriott empire place, this restaurant is a must-go if you are close to the area and don't know what to have 😋
we stumbled upon this on the first day of our trip and we are here again, ending it. if i ever come back to thailand i will bring my family here.
there are two venues, indoor and outdoor, they are the same restaurant however im pretty sure the outside one has an extra menu with boat noodles
the outdoor venue is beautiful with trees overhanging to give shade, positive signs all around and fans around to provide air conditioning
the indoor venue has a pile of fans near the counter which i found really funny and english music constantly playing
both venues are kept very clean in my opinion (compared to other restaurants in thailand)
the food overall is very good, they offer a large variety of foods, thai and international. the pad see ew is sweet and chewy (unlike the ones in australia), the boat noodles were chewy and gave us a handful of meat, however the fried chicken as is was more on the dry end (it could have been rushed as it was pretty busy the night we came)
be careful though, some of the foods are very spicy, even when we asked for no spice 😭 (e.g. papaya and blue crab salad)
the pricing is good, (seeing that its a restaurant with good air conditioning and is kept very clean/updated) for the food and for the drinks. a soda is around 25 THB if i remember correctly. and most foods are under 400 THB
i recommend this place for foreigners as the staff were all so welcoming and...
Read moreHad an early Sunday lunch there today. The food was fairly good, and it's clear the place is popular as it was quite busy. However, I was not impressed by the small portion sizes, the slow service, or the cost.
A bowl of beef boat noodles here in Bangkok generally cost 15 to 25 Baht for a small bowl, or 50 or 60 Baht for a large one. Most people who buy small bowls eat a few, maybe three or four. If they get the large size, one is usually sufficient.
What I got at Sara-Jane's was slightly larger than a typical small bowl, but not even close to the size of a typically large one. And the cost was 75 Baht. I would have needed at least two to feel full. But I wasn't willing to pay 150 Baht for them. They're basically charging double the going price for a bowl of boat noodles. The noodles are good, but not that good.
Finally, the service was quite slow. It seemed like they were understaffed, and were still in the process of opening...
Read moreSuper Cute Romantical Situation - We’ve walked by this place a few times and it looked like a restaurant in a parking lot, however one evening we walked by and the lights were on in the outdoor restaurant and It looked really cute so we decided to check it out.
We ordered-
Dinner: Panang Curry Chicken Larb Isaan Sausage Fried Morning Glory Seafood Salad
Dessert: Mango Sticky Rice
Drink: Coconut Water
Food came out hot, fresh and delicious w just the right amount of spice.
Definitely would visit again. Good food, good service, nice ambiance, and a dope playlist while we enjoyed our meal. We sat in the outdoor restaurant so there were a few mosquito’s in the evening, but they provided mosquito spray at the table so we were able to deal. Mosquito’s or nah, we’ll definitely be back.
