Chili's - Berges du Lac — Restaurant in Tunis

Chilli's Lac has been one of my favourite places, until the poor experience I encountered there today. Despite the fact that it's Monday evening and the restaurant was not crowded, we waited for a whole hour to get our plates, which is very unusual. What made matters worse is that the sauce of the pasta was not good with a taste of sourness and it was bland to the point that my friend left her plate full. The salad was bland as well. The tortilla in the salade was burned and the waiter tried to convince me otherwise and insisted that it was usually served that way. When I insisted that I had it twice before at Chilli's Lac and I have picture of how it's normally served, then he escalated the matter to the chef, who was kind enough to replace it. Last but not least, when it was time to pay, the waiter tried to make us pay for something he included in the receipt that we did not order in the first place, blaming it on an error he made when he first placed our order. I am used to an exceptional service at your place that makes you my number one restaurant at Lac, but today was a disappointment that will make me change my mind...

From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was vibrant and welcoming. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, providing top-notch service throughout my visit. I was particularly impressed by the efficiency and professionalism of the team. The menu offered an excellent variety of delicious dishes, and the food surpassed all expectations. This place used to be a delight, but my last visit was a disaster. It seems they are severely understaffed in the kitchen and have hired new waiters, which created visible tension among the staff. They were literally shouting at each other in front of customers, and I could swear there was some kind of altercation in the kitchen. Our waiter repeatedly told us they were understaffed to justify the fact that we waited over an hour for our food. The quality of the dishes seems to have declined — still decent overall, but not enough to justify the prices compared to other places in Tunis.
