Grignotine Coffee Shop — Restaurant in Tunis

I don’t come here often, today was only my second time here. My first experience was great. The service was fast and the atmosphere was cozy and comfy, which is initially why I came back today. However, to my dismay, my experience today was disappointing to say the least. First, when I walked in, the person behind the register was being nice and directly asked me what I wanted. When I told them I wanted water, they bluntly replied “we do not serve water alone”, which is illegal by the way. (Conditional sale/البيع المشروط) I ordered an Americano instead, and as I proceeded to walk, they very bluntly said, without so much as looking up at me, “payment is in advance”, which was not the case the first time I went there. Then, to my surprise, more and more customers came, customers which I assumed were regulars, who took their time sitting down before ordering, and only paid when they were about to leave (this happened with more than one customer). My issue here is that if you’re going to treat one customer a certain way, might as well treat everyone the same. A sorry excuse for a cafe. Only posting this negative comment because I visited this place based on its misleading rating. I ordered an "ice tea"/"thé glacé". The waitress came back to me with a few teabags asking me to pick one. I was already steeling myself to not receive a proper house made or even bottled ice tea, but instead just a cold version of a tea bag. However the product was even worse than that. I received a pale, tepid, lukewarm, glass of water. No flavour or hint of tea except very the very faint green tinge and slight aftertaste it left in my mouth. Absolutely ridiculous they are offering an ice tea on the menu, which is standard cafe fare, when they know this is the product. Not to mention charging more for this than a coffee! The least you could do is remove this from your menu...

Don't go to this place. If you want a cozy cafe you'd better try another one. The music is too loud to study or focus on work. We ordered iced americano. The taste was just bad. Half of the menu was not available. When we go to pay it turns out that the price is way higher than what it should be. I ask why and the staff says that the ice for iced americano is 3 additional dinars. Am I supposed to pay for ice when the menu says clearly a price for that coffee? I complain, they say there is nothing to do with since the manager said to do so. I paid a lot for a bad experience. Go...
