Ah, the delightful symphony of dining at "Bazlama." You know you're in for a treat when your first course is a 10 to 15-minute meditation on the sidewalk. But, hey, who doesn’t love a good sidewalk existential crisis before dinner? Once you’re finally granted entry to this gastronomic paradise, you’ll find that the cramped quarters offer an intimate dining experience — you'll get to know your fellow diners better than you ever wanted.
The food? Oh, the food! Worth every second of that outdoor purgatory. The quality is so superb, you’d think the chefs were trained by a celestial being with a passion for culinary excellence. The bread, dear heavens, the bread! So divine they make you order it separately. Because, naturally, you'd want to pay extra for a slice of nirvana.
Service is as swift as a caffeinated cheetah. Blink, and your food might just materialize. And the tea? Perfectly brewed. It’s like a warm hug in a cup, reassuring you that everything will be alright — despite the minor inconvenience of having to ponder your life choices while waiting outside.
Prices are reasonable, which is a polite way of saying you won’t need to auction off a kidney to enjoy a meal here. In summary, if you don’t mind a brief stint on the sidewalk and crave great food in a cozy, fast-paced environment, "Bazlama" is the place to be. Just remember, patience isn’t just a virtue here; it’s the...
Read moreOnce you manage to get inside (weekends there are huge lines outside, especially in peak days (weekend) and summers, it gets better really quickly. Very involved, personnel with personal touch, and the motto is: you may not get up as long as you are (feeling) hungry. The food is presented excellently, the juices are extremely tasty, and the food (including the Bazlama and Gözleme bread that is made right before your eyes in the room you are in, is as well. The tea is wonderful and nothing is worthy of complaining about from pricing perspective. The personel is quick to come when called. The overall feeling is that you really are served very well and simply get whatever you wish for. A very nice feeling. The location in Nisantasi is nice, surrounded by enough “liveliness” and stores as well in the area, quickly to be reached from the center of Nisantasi. Here Bazlama has multiple buildings and if you are lucky, you end up in the building they call “the Center”. This is just around the corner and you are suddenly lead to a pittoresk on the second floor, cozy room with an open view on the street. A nice plus: if you move around the tea glass on the tea plate it makes a very satisfying sound for the ones with OCD among us :) i basically have nothing to complain except the waiting...
Read moreA two person breakfast spread is 1900 TL, it’s nice that it’s an unlimited breakfast, you can order more of everything except the juices. There isn’t a standard menu, you can’t choose anything specific really. For the price, it’s quite astonishing that they don’t provide kaymak and butter (although they brought us butter when we asked). I was looking forward forward to the fresh gozleme, of which there are three types, but all 3 were bland and tasteless. The service was also very disappointing, as the servers paid no attention to us but repeatedly came to the table next to us to ask if they needed anything. They would pass us by if we didn’t stop them to ask for more bread,...
