I had the pleasure of dining at Hallab, a Lebanese restaurant located in Nisantasi, and it turned out to be the best meal we experienced in the city. From the moment we stepped in, it was clear that this was an upscale establishment, with staff dressed impeccably and providing attentive service throughout our meal.
The highlight of our dining experience was undoubtedly the hummus, which was exceptional by any standard. Alongside this, we opted for the mixed meat platter, which offered a variety of flavors and was prepared to perfection. The food was not only delicious but also arrived fairly quickly, adding to the overall positive experience.
The restaurant's ambiance and the quality of the service made our dinner at Hallab feel special. It's worth noting that despite the upscale nature of the restaurant, the bill was very reasonable, especially considering the high quality of food we enjoyed.
I can wholeheartedly recommend Hallab to anyone looking for an exceptional dining experience in Istanbul. Whether you're a fan of Lebanese cuisine or looking to try something new, Hallab is sure to impress with its delicious dishes, great service, and...

We went for dinner at Al Hallab. It was very hot this day and needed to drink water before ordering food. After probably 10 minutes, and as no one bothered with us, we asked a waiter for help. He pointed at another one who told us to wait. After a further 5 minutes, we asked a waiter who again pointed at another one who told us to wait. He came soon after. We finally ordered and drank our water after 20 minutes. The place was very dirty. The seats were covered with crumbs and food. The floor was filthy covered with straws, chips, food. We asked a waiter to clean our table and seat. Nothing. After 10 minutes, we asked another one to get someone to clean around us. As no one came, we called for the manager who apologized. He then picked up a straw from the floor and told us that the floor was now clean! We insisted that someone cleans the floor before we eat. He finally explained to us that he was short of staff and that all his staff were Turkish and lazy! No shame.
This is not a cheap restaurant yet the service was absolutely horrible and the place was very very dirty. The worst service...
Read moreHi Mr. Rami Al Hallab, This is a very personal letter to you from one of your loyal customers. My partner and I have been coming to your restaurant in Nisantasi for many weeks. We absolutely love your food and the service from your staff when they like a clock work and when your doorman oversees the operation. We went to your restaurant for lunch today and the service was terrible to a point where we had to call your main restaurant phone number 3 times. Even after that, we had no service from anyone. The girl who was at the door was having a holiday at your expense and mine. When I confronted your assistant manager about the service being poor particularly today, she said “Please go”. We may only be 2 heartbroken loyal customers today. I wonder how many of us out there cursing on your restaurant and tarnishing your good name that you had so worked hard to establish and maintain around the world. I am disappointed to say the least. We loved everything about your restaurant so far. What happened today left a really bad taste in our mouths. I am sure you can rectify this by doing some weeding of your own....
