Buraya bir kahve içmek için değil, adeta bir sınıf savaşı yaşamak için geliyorsunuz. Kötü kahve mi? Kupada soğuk bir hayal kırıklığı. Her yudumda "Neden buradayım?" diye soruyorsunuz kendinize. Mekân deseniz, yıpranmış minderler, dizinizi bir yere çarpınca iki gün ağrıyor. Konfor sıfır.

Ama fiyatlar... Aman Tanrım, fiyatlar! Bir fincan kahveye verdiklerinizle dışarıda iki öğün yersiniz. O kahvede altın tozu mu var? Ay'a mı gönderildi, geri mi döndü? Ne bu fiyatlar? Bu bir kahve değil, modern kapitalizmin tokadı.

Çalışanlar desen, varlıkları yokluklarından farksız. Siparişinizi verirken göz teması kurmanız bile mucize. Güler yüz? Yok. İlgi? Sıfır. “Zengin müşteriler gelir nasıl olsa” rahatlığında bir tavır hâkim. Ama yanılıyorsunuz. Müşteriniz biziz. Günün 9 saatini çalışarak geçiren, yorgun ama hâlâ bir kahvede biraz nefes almak isteyen orta sınıf.

Ama yok. Biz yokuz bu tabloda. Siz, bizsiz bir hayat kurmaya çalışıyorsunuz. Ama o hayat, bomboş masalarla, içilmeyen kahvelerle, ve er ya da geç kapanacak...
