Avoid at all costs, 3 people eating dinner, we wanted to sit inside which they weren’t keen on, ordered 3 starters & 3 mains 1st starter of hummus came immediately followed 5 minutes later by garlic prawns and then after approximately 10 mins the final starter of calamari arrived. My sister had just started this when the mains arrived. The fish I ordered was lukewarm with accompanying potatoes cold, I complained and the meal was taken away to be returned 5 minutes later, it had been reheated - not good for a fresh whole fish and the potatoes were still cold . I complained and told them I would not accept reheated fish and it wasn’t really good that my sister was eating her calamari with her lamb main. I refused a new meal as we wanted to eat together they got very argumentative and said they would put it right we said we just wanted the bill. A plate of some indistinguishable brown pudding type was presented to me with a birthday candle in . We eventually got the bill and they begrudgingly removed the cost of my main meal. Not a good experience. Reflecting on this how can a chef in a supposedly busy restaurant get his timings...
Read moreWe were looking for a cozy place to eat nice Meze - and we found it! We've been there at a Wednesday afternoon so the restaurant was pretty empty. We got a lovely presentation by the owner of the different Meze variations and he took all time to explain the different kinds and how they're made. And what can I say - it was amazing. My friend and I had a great time trying these lovely specialties. Many of them had an exciting twist and were a pleasure to our taste buds. I really recommend you try the stuffed pumpkin flowers, they were absolutely delicious. But don't forget to also eat a lot of the fantastic eggplant dishes. The restaurant is in a cozy street which becomes even more beautiful after dark. We liked a lot that it's a bit separated from the otherwise crazy touristic Beçiktas area. If you're already satisfied with a Meze consisting of some grilled olives you might go anywhere. But if you want the real thing and be surprised by exciting combinations made with love I guess you should really...
Read moreThe day I return home after a 16-day trip to Turkye. Last meal in Istanbul. We found a restaurant that was a gem. We fell in love with the comfortable and clean atmosphere and the friendliness and warmth of the owner and staff, and most of all, the fresh and flavorful food thrilled our hearts. The lamb liver, octopus dish, and fried fish were the best dishes and went perfectly with beer. In particular, the fresh fish caught every day was so savory and delicious. For dessert, the Turkish-style wheat pancakes with ice cream recommended by the owner were fantastic in their crunchiness and sweetness. I heard there is a live music performance after 8pm, but it's a shame I couldn't see it this time, and I'll definitely have to visit again next time. Thanks to the cheerful owner and staff, I left Istanbul with good memories. Highly...
