As the sun dipped below Istanbul's skyline, I found myself drawn to the inviting aroma emanating from SiMIT FIRINI, a cherished simit bakery established in 1977. The worn wooden door creaked open, revealing a cozy haven of warmth and nostalgia. The baker, his hands kneaded the dough with a practiced rhythm, crafting the iconic Turkish simit. The walls whispered tales of shared laughter and generations united by this culinary tradition.

I couldn't resist the allure of the golden-brown rings, freshly baked and coated in sesame seeds. As I bit into the warm embrace of the simit, I felt a connection to Turkish daily life. It wasn't just a pastry; it was a cultural cornerstone, symbolizing shared moments at family tables and bustling street corners. The simit's subtle crunch echoed the resilience of a recipe passed down through decades, anchoring itself in the hearts of a community. In that modest bakery, I savored more than a treat; I embraced a piece of...

Got 7 simits which are rock hard and dry and the old man didn't want to tell me the price and just continued gesturing money. I had read in the review he would just take more money so insisted on him inputting the amount using the calculator. 7 simits for 120 liras which is much more than street vendors. Do not recommended due to his dishonesty. I was hoping a bakery would be superior. Definitely regretted that I didn't get them from the street vendors whose simit texture is way better and chewier also the street vendors charge only 10 lira...

Lovely tiny bakery in this nice street that takes from Istiklal down to the seaside. Fresh simit for 10 TL, and prices are listed in front of the shop so there are no mistakes. Been there three times in 4 days and will continue going, welcoming people and great value ☺️
