And just when we thought the experience couldn’t get any better, the owner personally brought us a free tea on the house to wrap up the meal. That kind of hospitality is rare and unforgettable.

The place has three floors for seating, so whether you’re a solo traveler or with a group, you’ll find a cozy spot easily. Everything was super clean, and they even went the extra mile to help us clean our hands – bringing napkins and personally handing them out. It felt like visiting a close friend’s home, not a restaurant.

I usually avoided everything on Istiklal, especially dining, but recent years everything has gotten better and you can find really amazing options on the street. This is one of them. Don't be intimidated that you can't speak English and go try the dishes. I love the rice and the kofta kabad, also the skewer chicken kabab is amazing. TOURISTS BEWARE! This place has a sketchy cashier working the register overcharging unsuspecting tourists. Not only did he try to overcharge me, but while I waited for my food I heard others questioning him as well.

However, the food here is delicious. The kofte with cheese is amazing, cacik was very good and also the meatball sandwich. The salad was super fresh. The fresh baked bread might be the best part! Don’t let the dishonest cashier deter you from eating here, just watch yourself...
