So me and my family ate at this restaurant today. We’ve spent a total of 9 days in Istanbul and on our last day, my mum was craving Pakistani food, and as we were out and about we googled for a restaurant and found this one. As soon as we walked in the atmosphere was very unprofessional, just a single menu put in a dirty plastic wallet presented to us. The owners are husband and wife, the wife was incredibly sweet and welcoming, but the husband was not polite at all. This is not why I am complaining though. We ordered a biryani and a simple chicken karahi as was suggested to us by the husband and of course, a side of naan. So can someone please tell me why the bill came up to 1220 lira? This is approximately £31.38. For three things off the menu. Not even London charges this much. Looking back, we should have said something, but honestly because of how sweet and friendly his wife was we decided we don’t want to argue with them. The thing is we were previously having a conversation with the couple about how Pakistani’s specifically are given a bad name because of the way they act in foreign countries, this man does not realise that he is the one giving his country a bad name and he should be very ashamed of himself, as a Muslim committing fraud against other Muslims. My mother actually gave so many duas to this couple, hoping their business will prosper and grow, but I want to offer some sincere advice to the husband. Please work with honesty, or there will be no barakah in the money you. We also noticed he conversed very rudely with another customer asking about tea. How do you expect your business to grow if you act this way? Not to mention you are ruining the name of Pakistani businesses in Turkey. Honestly, we don’t hold any grudge against him, I’m writing this in hopes he opens his eyes and realises that one day Allah will ask him about all the people he has looted and the way he treated his customers.
Please try to improve yourself as a person, and the way you run your business, in your words, the act of one Pakistani can ruin the name of an...

-Ownership has changed for the worst -He used packet-rice and stuck it in the microwave -The Naan bread was shop-brought Turkish bread -He went to the shop next door to buy our drinks (that is unprofessional) -He short changed-us despite us giving him an opportunity to be honest. They don’t take card. -The prices have increased dramatically; significantly more expensive from the great-value gem it used to be. 380TL for a curry. In Istanbul’s current economic climate; it’s expensive. -The lady chef started to smoke inside as we were eating. -The tea lacked flavour and cream, it’s not what it used to be. We asked for sugar in our tea; and he used his dirty hands to pick the sugar cubes and put in our tea. Not hygienic. He was sitting touching his dirty phone before. -The closing hours advertised are incorrect. It seems that they open and close whenever they feel like it.
You can see the pictures and judge for yourself. This is a genuine visit with pictures. I asked him for a receipt and this is what he gave us. I’ve never seen a receipt looking like this.
I am certain that the other overly positive reviews are not genuine but you can be the judge for that.
As for the owner. If you genuinely want to improve the place you need to lower the prices significantly, make things fresh onsite, buy drinks prior to opening and do things more professionally. Be honest and don’t short change your customers. If you’re going to sell naan; make sure it’s naan and not shop brought Turkish bread.
We used to get a carton of water, salad and chutneys...

This is what I have seen from the owner's post. Please look into this before making your decision. I have personally visited Lahori Darbar multiple times and had a great experience. Indeed the prices might seem high, but that's how it is everywhere in Turkey due...
