the restaurant was chosen randomly After viewing the restaurants closest to the hotel, the choice fell on the nearest restaurants located on the Galata Bridge. So, Fish Port itself: before visiting, I checked with Google: 4.8 is an application “for reaching the semi-finals”, which I wanted to check right away. We visited the restaurant around 18:00. In reality, I would have passed it by (even knowing the rating) if the venerable gentleman had not stopped me. His clothes were different from the uniforms of the workers, who generally did not care about passing potential "purses". This gentleman suggested the possibility of a wider menu, in isolation from the standard. Barkers - nothing. If not for him, I would have passed by, regardless of the rating. In the end, with his help, instead of the standard menu of sardines and squid in batter, we settled on Lobster, king prawns and grilled sea bass. What can I say - the lobster and shrimp were excellent. Served with vegetables that go well with the main course. Seabass was taken on the grill. Here you need to clearly understand what you want to get in the end: our grilled fish was dried. Now, analyzing, I would take it in salt. The accompaniment of the protein presence was an excellent green salad. As for the kitchen, no complaints. Service - a Russian-speaking girl was assigned to us. For me, this is more a minus than a plus - I speak English fluently. But these employees usually imagine themselves as shepherds among the sheep. Carrying nonsense about the complexities and hardships of their lives. Allowing yourself to leave the table, and allow the guest to pour the wine himself (I remind you that in this restaurant, 10% of the service fee is automatically included in the bill). Despite the seemingly fixed waiter, it was she who I saw less than I wanted - different people took part in our dinner. The aforementioned gentleman generally controlled the process, but he poured in details from the weak work of the Chaldeans. In gratitude from our orders, we received a sweet dessert and a fruit plate. When calculating, bingo! - I was told that the service fee does not cover the work of the waiter and downcast eyes, I was asked to think about additional compensation. This fact has become for me beyond good and evil. Recommended to discuss the issue of compensation with the owner. Bottom line: good food, fresh food, good views, and service that spoils the...
Read moreIn terms of price-quality ratio, this was the worst restaurant experience in my life.
In defense of the restaurant, it should be said that I was partly to blame for this: I was tired and didn’t pay attention to many things.
Let’s start with the good things: the coke was perfect and also the fries were good. But then came the lobster 🦞
Originally I wanted to take shrimps but the waiter said that the “lobster was from today and I should take it”. As I said, I was tired but I still decided to take it. So it was partially my fault, that I missed the fact that the lobster shouldn’t be in this menu.
After that the waiter, who pushed me to take it, said that “the lobster is big!” I couldn’t understand what’s wrong with it and said OK again.
I understood it later: the lobster arrived in a big plate with oil, taken out of the shell completely. The shell and also the tail shell was … served aside with a strange red liquid in three glasses. It came out as a water with a bit if a beetroot juice and leaves. „Just for the serving“. 👀
The meat was dry, overcooked, super salty and not eatable. It was also precooked. With the other words it was terrible.
But the best was the price: they charged us 6.330 lira for this so called lobster, one dorada, one coke and one fries. After I protested they started to multiply the price for 100g (750 lira) with 600g lobster I’ve never seen.
After I protested they made a “discount” and eventually we paid 5.300 (130 euros). I decided just to leave this place with no further argument, being angry and laughing at my own stupidity at the same time. I considered it as my “learning money”.
So if you’re not planning to pay such a “learning money”, just avoid this place There’re plenty of other great places in Istanbul where you can get delicious food for less than...
Read moreafter reading the reviews my girlfriend and I decide to have dinner at this restaurant. I don't want to be arrogant but I think those who have left 5 stars don't understand much about cooking😅. the place is nice, the music is nice but it is totally ruined by the neighboring club which plays blaring disco music. speaking of the food I can say that the octopus is not good at all and too expensive for such a small portion, we also got a fresh caught fish which I must say was delicious (but if you don't know how to recognize the fresh fish from the old one good luck!) the service was generally really bad, almost none of the staff speak English, luckily there is a slightly elderly gentleman in the room who is a true professional and manages to remedy the unprofessionalism of the rest of the staff, he is truly exceptional . we got a bottle of local wine which was way too expensive for the quality (50 euros). in 2 people we spent 150 euros, that if it was worth it I would have paid them with great pleasure, but it...
