We visited around 8 PM, and the night started off calm with our musician friend playing songs. This is not the kind of place for a quick dinner – it’s perfect for enjoying a meal while having a long, pleasant conversation. We spent about three hours there. As the night went on, the music became livelier and the atmosphere shifted from dining to singing along with the songs, enjoying drinks, and sharing small mezes. Some people even started dancing! The atmosphere was lovely and enjoyable, and we especially appreciated the constant breeze from the fans, which was a big plus for us.
When we first arrived, the waiter kindly showed us the mezes and the fish. The fish didn’t appeal to us that evening, so we decided to go with other dishes instead. (My tip: choose your main dishes first and then the mezes – ordering everything at once might be too much.)
We went there mainly to drink rakı, but we wanted to have dinner first so the alcohol wouldn’t hit us too hard. We started with shrimp casserole (my recommendation: go for the buttery version!) and a mixed grill plate to share between the two of us. We also ordered a shepherd’s salad (çoban salata), which was fresh and tasty. Portions for the main dishes were generous. Later, we ordered two glasses of rakı along with haydari and köpoğlu as mezes. The meze portions were just right for us, so two were enough. Afterwards, we were served complimentary watermelon and melon – honestly, in the summer heat, the watermelon was even more refreshing than the mezes!
When we finished our rakı, we asked for the bill (total: 3060 TL). Just as we were about to leave, Mr Bahri kindly offered us complimentary coffee. Not only he, but the entire staff was attentive and helpful throughout the evening.
As I mentioned, this place is more suited for a relaxed, long dinner rather than a quick bite. We left around 11 PM, and the real party was just starting. If you’re looking for a lively night, you can either stay much later or come after 11 PM to enjoy the music and atmosphere...
Read moreThe food was great, the staff was very friendly and attentive, and the bathrooms were clean and even stocked with menstrual and other hygiene products.
Unfortunately things took a rather twisted turn when the charming owner Bahri offered to read our coffee and started to be quite pushy in his expressions of admiration towards my female friend. Although we made clear she wasn't interested, he kept inviting us for tea and drinks, insisting we stay just a bit longer and proposing we move to a "more quiet area", (just because of the "better view" of course), making it increasingly hard to say no without being impolite. İn the end the lights were already being switched off and we felt very uncomfortable, but eventually were able to leave.
So while there's absolutely nothing to say against the restaurant itself, please decide for yourself if you want to support its owner trying to take advantage of two young female-read...
Read moreBased on the numerous positive reviews, we gave it a shot after leaving our wonderful day boat tour: we were hungry and they were right in front. What a disappointment! We shared the grilled calamari: chewy and the salad next to it was basically some sad raw spinach with way too much red onion. Then for the meals, we both took octopus but 2 different ones. My boyfriend took the grilled one: small plate, a dozen of fries and the same « salad » we got for the calamari. Mine was better: octopus with eggplant. Good portion but fries and again that salad. The bill was way too much for the mediocrity of the meal. We left frustrated and my boyfriend ended up at Ege to get another full delicious meal. For the service, non existent. We saw one of the waitor pet the cat and then prepare the bread baskets… It’s sad, the place is beautiful and the music is good. Overall, beware if you...
