I don't understand what happened here. Got recommended this spot for a hearty and tasty dürüm but I am instead so disappointed. Everything seemed right, small menu with tight ingredients selection, homemade bevvies, front of house was nonchalant but nonconfrontational, small with fast service. This should have been right up my alley but the food just fell flat.
Actually the humus hit and was played great, definitely could have had any sort of love with the bread though... It was just dry and stale - a quick steam heat on the flat iron and this dish would have been a 💯 instead of a half score.
It was the kuzu that died on me. Somehow all I could taste was harissa but it didn't dry the dish out at all - this is because over half of my bites of meat were entirely fat, the entire cube cut of meat was fat half the time. All I could taste was fatty, wet harissa. It turned out bland because no other flavors came out. I could barely taste any meat. The bread was no better than the bread with the humus but at least it helped sop up some of the fat. The worse part is the fat did not get rendered, it was not seared or charred in anyway just a pure chewy mess. So sad. I'm just a tourist so I only get a handful of meals here. Sad this was one of them.
The tea is good. I've heard the...
Read moreHighly desappointed by this very well noted restaurant. The menu seemed promising as we tried the red lentil - orange soup, the beef wrap and an outstanding ice tea. The stake taken on the taste was totally off-mark for the dishes. Soup had too many flavors : nuts, melted butter, anis, and croutons. The orange was totally missing. Hard to confirm that this dish is a people pleaser. As for the wrap.... Componed by only salad, pickles, red cabagge and mustard, it felt absolutly flat in terms of taste and texture. The combination of the ingredients seems like an attempt to recreate another dish, and although it could be an interesting stake on this very simple dish, it just feels wrong. An interesting add-on could had been pomegranate or the classic parsley-tomato-lemon that is a must have for such a strong taste to balance the overall dish and add a bit of...

Wow.. a friend recommended this place as one of the must eat places in Kadikoy. I go the kuzu kebab, home Made ayran in a jar and the salad of the day - simply amazing! The owners have a restaurant as well and decided to give their hand a go at street food. Price is good, small simple menu and vegetarian friendly. Was told the humanoid plate is good - go go go!!
2022 update:
just had the Dana durum… I have to say I’m surprised from the red cabbage and mustard combo - takes good and it’s crunchy :)
Also the lamb and eggplant burger. I was asked how well I want the meat cooked, which is a first for lamb rissoles, people usually overlook them. I asked for medium and it was good.
Portion size...
