Nestled in the charming eastern district of Istanbul, Fahriye Cafe stands as a testament to authentic Turkish hospitality blended with contemporary cosmopolitan flair. This hidden gem has masterfully created an atmosphere that feels both sophisticated and wonderfully homey.
The interior design is nothing short of enchanting – with its carefully curated international book collection adorning wooden shelves, creating an intellectual yet cozy ambiance. The immaculate cleanliness and thoughtful decor elements transform this space into a living room away from home.
What truly sets Fahriye apart is their exceptional pistachio cake, a divine creation that deserves its own accolades. Paired with their meticulously prepared traditional Turkish tea, it creates an unforgettable culinary experience that will linger in your memory long after your visit.
The staff's warmth and proficiency in English make this establishment particularly welcoming for international visitors, while maintaining its authentic Turkish charm. Their genuine friendliness and attentive service elevate the entire experience from merely pleasant to truly memorable.
The cafe's strategic location in this vibrant neighborhood adds to its appeal, making it an ideal spot for both quiet contemplation and social gatherings. Whether you're a local or a traveler, Fahriye Cafe offers that rare combination of comfort, quality, and cultural authenticity that makes you want to return time and time again.

Read moreWhile Istanbul is expensive, especially districts like Kadikoy, cafes like Fahriye would rip you off. The price of a latte, which would be served in a somewhat small portion, is 180 TL (roughly 4.5 USD in August 2025). While this is already expensive, this is not something I am not used to in Kadikoy. What I am not used to is them charging another 80 TL (2 USD) for using almond milk instead of regular milk (in other cafes it is roughly 25 to 35 TL). When I asked the waiter to show me where that +80 TL is written on the digital menu, he failed to show it to me and his colleague came over and found it, which is to say it is hidden in the menu. Not planning to go to this place again.

Highly recommend the Fahriye cookies, which are mini cookies that they bake on the spot, which I've never encountered at a cafe before. As a result, they take around 15 minutes to come out, but the perfectly melty chewy goodness is worth the wait. Their Turkish coffee was also very solid, it went very well with the cookies.
