Muutto Street Food Moda — Restaurant in Kadıköy

Oh man, it all looks good on pics but tastes worse than actual street food :( Sorry! The owner is really trying but here is my feedback, hopefully it will be useful either for the chef or for the folks considering this spot: -the salad with beets was overly vinegary and it had green apples, too, so all together it was way too sour. If they’d use half of the dressing it would be fine. -my lamb wrap had bone pieces in it, I’m glad I didn’t bit too hard. I told the waiter but I don’t think he understood. Other than that, the lamb had too much salt, mixed with pickles and was dry. And, for the price of this wrap it’s too small. Can be considered an appetizer. -the chicken appetizer that looks like a pate of some sort was tasty, but also a bit too salty. It could have been fine if this was the only salty dish but in combination with super salty wrap and very sour salad it was way too much. Combine it all with the cucumber ayran (nice and refreshing idea, but expectedly salty) and my mouth was pickled. Total was over 800tl which is twice more than what I typically pay for lunch/dinner but would have been okay if the food was good. I had to go and order a cookie from a nearby coffee shop to wash down all that salt and sour taste. Again, nice idea, pleasant interior, just take it down a notch with all the salt and...

I’ve previously been to their GalataPort branch. That one had a different concept, and was more upscale with a working bar as is expected in its location.

Muutto Kadıköy, on the other hand, is much smaller with a scaled-down menu. However, the quality of the ingredients and the harmony between different flavors is on par with my previous experience.

I’d definitely suggest ordering the tapas quintet (5’li meze) which lets you sample 5 different cold tapas (meze) dishes of your choosing. The portion size and the complimentary toasted bread was enough for a party of two.

Then we went with the Mac & Cheese Balls which were cooked to perfection but the sauce itself is bit of an acquired taste.

We can’t; however, fault the rib wrap and the sauce (buffalo?) accompanying it. It paired well with the light and tangy lemonade which was served in tiny pickle jars.

Overall, a great experience and definitely a must visit if you’re up for a more modern and accessible take on...

Dishes sound creative but not everything works. İ live a block away and ordered delivery for a fancy dinner during lockdown. Elegant packaging. Kokoreç dürüm was nice. Chicken dürüm was bland except for the flavor of fruit. Acılı ayran was delicious. 3-mezze platter: Hummus is tahini-heavy but decent. Nazuktan is was slightly bitter but the creamy garnish made it taste odd. Tabule was covered in mayo/aioli sauce and as a result it was sludgy. Lucky İ had bread at home, as none of the appetizers came with bread (?!) Finally the sea bass appetizer had 2 strikes against it: grain mustard overpowered the flavor and the fish wasn't cleaned properly. My first bite İ crunched into a huge piece of fish scale, which ruined my appetite. İ had been so looking forward to this dinner + it was a major disappointment. Not even a bottle of wine could fix it. The longer the leftovers sat in my fridge without being touched, the more disappointed İ felt. Binned it...
