I wanted to spend some time working from a coffee shop, and I did so one afternoon on a weekday. Before visiting Istanbul, I heard Montag would be one of the coffee shops that would be great to work from. There are two branches of this coffee shop in Kadikoy, and I decided to go to this one.
This branch is located in a very busy part of Kadikoy (as in crowded and noisy). It also has an outdoor seating with a good view to "people watch" the crowd below. However, it is noisy and honestly I don't like noisy/loud places to work from. I didn't stay that long here, probably up to 1.5-2 hours that afternoon before heading to another workspace.
The space is quite tight for outdoors seating and usually occupied by people who want to people watch. Indoors has a bit more space to walk around and move.

You can immediately tell the quality of their coffee beans is superb. I'd recommend the iced mocha if you like the subtle sweet dark chocolate flavor that isn't overly sweet. Also I wanted to bring back some whole beans as souvenirs. The female barista was extraordinarily helpful, passionately explaining the different profiles of each as well as letting us smell all of their selections. The co-fermented bean selection, although pricier than the others, seemed well worth the price. Can't wait to make some drinks when I'm back home! Also if you buy beans there, they do give you a free drink...
