The Red Balloon Restoran & Bar — Restaurant in Sarıyer

My wife and I reserved at the Red Balloon for her birthday. We arrived and were quickly greeted by staff waiting on the building's stoop. They led us in, allowed us to pick our table, and hung our coats. We chose the window seat because my wife and I wanted to appreciate the ambience of the dining room. A mid-light room set in brick, black finishes, and cut with a smart contrast of marble in the barista's area. It was intelligently lit so the lights bounced off walls and created a very cosy atmosphere. Comfortable. I felt like I was sitting in someone's home.

We were waited in just the right amount of time. Long enough to settle in and familiarize ourselves with the menu but not long enough to become concerned. This is my only complaint: the local beer was out of stock and two of the mixed drinks could not be made because something was out of stock: the elderberry (elderflower?) and one other I cannot remember. We ordered the tasting menu although we were also offered the half tasting menu. We opted for the full because honestly, Im fat and I like to eat good food. I assure you, the food was good.

I am not going to do the restaurant injustice and fail to describe what my wife and I ate. Just know that it was delicious and was worth 5000 Turkish Lira per person for the full gastronomic experience. I have never done a tasting menu before and now, I think I shall do it again. Yeniköy’deki ilk halini bilen anlar, civarda olunca terasını barını değerlendirebiliriz ancak. Fiyatlar tavan! // Sahibi kadın işletme 💜 Çok memnun kaldık. Ufak mevsimsel menü et balık sebze alternatifli, herkese hitap edecek şekilde düşünülmüş. Balıklı ana yemek öğlen servisinde bir önceki akşamdan bittiği için yoktu sonra yetiştirmeye gayret ettiler ama tam yetişmedi - Michelin rehberine girmiş bir şef restoranında menü kalemlerinin eksik kalmadan tamamlanması yerinde olur. İki başlangıç, iki ara sıcak, bir ana yemek bir tatlı denedik hepsi ortalamanın üzerindeydi. Şef yorum ve tavsiye alabilir belki öğlen servisinin görece rahat zamanlarında. Servis özenli ancak ufak iyileştirme alanları var.
