We stayed at this hotel from 12 - 14 Oct. Booked 2 rooms. Overall, this place is one of the worst hotel that we’ve stayed in.
Location: Good location and very closed to tourist spot. However, it situated on the main road so it can be noisy sometimes.
Food: Breakfast is generally ok.
Service: I would have leave no star at all. But understand that we have to leave at least one. We stayed in 2 rooms on the 4th floor at the beginning. My husband was burnt by water from the shower. The water that came out was only hot and super hot water. My husband has to wash shampoo from his hair using the sink. We called the service number, maintenance guy came up quite fast. He checked and it is true that there’s only hot water. Later we received the call from reception that we have 2 choices: First to do nothing and stay in this room. The matter can only be fixed tomorrow. Second is to move to other room. We choose to move to other room on 2nd floor. Turned out that the room offered was much smaller than the one we originally had.
On the same evening in our second room. My 10 years old also burnt her hand due to water from the sink. The hotel is so careless and dangerous that from the tab marked as “hot” at the sink, it is cold water. But from the tap that marked as “cold”, it is hot water. How can the mistake be happened in two rooms??? Where is the inspection standard of the brand “Radisson”? Where is the safety standard for guest in “Radisson”?
On the same evening (approx 7 pm), I called the service number asking for them to send someone to picked up our laundry. The guy who picked up mentioned that it is too late the service ended around 3pm. He asked us to call tomorrow which is fine. So I called them again 8am on the next day asking if they can send someone to pick up the laundry. Other guy picked up and said “No laundry service. This is Sunday.” You could have mentioned it to me in the first place. This indicates that your staff does not even know the service of the hotel. Standard is very low.
We also booked the airport transfer to other guest with the hotel. Although with a short notice, they can find us the van. We gave the reception who made a booking for us all details (pick up time, no. Of guest, name of guests, airport to go to, flight). The confirmed with the booking. Unfortunately, van arrives 15 mins late. The driver also hasn’t been communicated which airport he should go to.
We’ve communicated our feedback to the lady during the time of our checkout. She can only give us an apologetic smile and looked surprised on our complained and offer 2 notebooks for the kids.
Last but not least, we waited for the bellman for quite sometimes since we have to leave to hotel. He is nowhere to be seen. It was over 10 mins wait so we decided to remove our luggages from the cart by ourselves and carry it to the van.
Note: We also stayed at other Radisson Blu in Istanbul on the same trip. However, we have no problem at all.
So we are quite doubtful on the brand itself and the service standard. This hotel is really a nightmare...
Read moreUpdate after a week: There has been no updates or follow ups by anyone in management from the hotel at this location despite so many complaints and feedback Clearly a hotel that can ONLY service local turkish ppl and no one else internationally. Indians/Americans of indian origin please take your business elsewhere. This hotel is not worth your stay or money. Update: i spoke to guest relations at the hotel this morning and Fahriye(guest relations) has been understanding and supportive. Omer is another helpful person at this hotel. But everyone else needs training, some world education and speak some english if Radisson is to continue serving it’s international customers and maintain it’s reputation as a global hotel brand and stay in the hospitality business. I hope my feedback is taken seriously and steps are taken to hold people accountable and to improve the experience for every customer no matter their race or skin color. Also consider adding more women to your front desk staff. ———————————————- Rooms and location were good but that's where the good part ends. The service was terrible, i would give 0 if possible. 7 of us were going out for dinner on a rainy night and i asked for 4 umbrellas (we had 4 rooms in this hotel). The front desk person had an attitude and was extremely rude, he said we did not have any umbrellas. when i pointed out he had at least 1(i saw 1 get returned) then he said i have 1 but we have 135 rooms and we cannot give everyone an umbrella! i pointed out that i am a guest here and there is no need for rudeness and brusque attitude. he could have simply said he did not have 4 only 1 and would that work? when i called him out on his behavior he acted all agitated. I pointed out he should apologize for the way he talked to me and he said thank you and sat down in his chair. The manager at this location is never around, never supervises his staff. In the next experience my aged parents (70+) asked for body wash (empty bottle in their bathroom) for 2 days in a row and the hotel staff said they have run out of body wash. Imagine running a hotel with no body wash for their guests and no ability to refill it for 4 days and 3 nights. We stayed at Ajwa Cappadocia and Shangri-La this trip and had wonderful service at both locations. Both the manager here and some of his incompetent staff members should be fired. My feedback is that the male staff in this hotel don't know how to talk to women and need training. This was a very racist experience for me. Management if you are listening - you should promote the women in your staff - they are much more polite, competent and do...
Read moreThe most upsetting experience with Radisson in my life. So many things are broken or working weirdly so I don't know where to start. Rooms are smelly (pipes are not maintenaned, I was indeed offered to change rooms, but other rooms smelled as well, one even more) and noisy (outside traffic, inside air-conditioning is loud and you can hear other rooms doors banging).
Cosmetics in the bathroom smells awful and for sure is not what is offered in other countries by the same chain. I was lucky to have some conditioner with me, but I had to buy body lotion externally.
Spa is a big joke: jacuzzi is cold, Hamam stinks like mold, pool has sharp edges and weird rules about swimming cap that were enforced on me, but later I watched people swimming without. The worst part is that they try to sell you this cap for 200 lira, although technically I could use a shower cap from the room. (Funny enough my room had only empty shower cap box when I opened it). And everything in this hotel is somehow like this. Exist, but you have to ask twice and accept half broken state of things (I got bathrobes only after saying that I will leave a bad review and etc).
To be fair the management was trying to compensate me with a juice or even massage (my spa experience was totally awful on the first day) but it's not possible to fix what is already ruined - my time is wasted and the experience is spoiled.
The bed is big, but linens are done in a way that half of if it is unusable. Including the middle, where you just have a lot of crumbled fabrics.
The cherry on top of the cake is a Russian speaking manager, to whom on one day I told that I really do not need to be addressed in Russian, since I see my nationality mainly as a birth defect and prefer English, and next morning she came to me during breakfast speaking Russian again.
I will definitely think twice before choosing Radisson again. Even though I really loved the experience with them in Europe.
N.b. since the manager has just replied to my review saying that I had shown disrespect... It's such a Russian approach, blaming others for what you've just done yourself.
Anyways! Employees that made my stay a little less awful and were actually a lot more helpful than the manager -
Noah Soloman at the spa,
Mr Tarfan at the reception
definitely deserve promotion and do a lot more of a actual hospitality work...
