Moniq Restaurant & Cocktail Bar — Restaurant in Uçhisar Beldesi

First I am Turkish traveling with my family from the US, and had dinner in Moniq while staying with my family in the Taşkonaklar hotel. We had breakfast every morning during our stay. The ambiance is authentic, the waitstaff is courteous, service is efficient and the view is breathtaking. Our server Ali was an incredible person who made sure we were happy and attentive throughout. I can’t say enough good things about the food. My daughter ordered Manti, I ordered içli köfte with rib meat which was absolutely phenomenal and highly recommended I never had this anywhere else before and that is saying something from an avid traveler and food aficionado. My sister had the fried liver which is a rare delicacy and executed exceptionally well. Came to Moniq on the back of the Google reviews. Service was good when we got the right server - Emrah was fantastic. Emrah, really knew the food, made adjustments to meet our needs and spoke great English.

The food was GREAT! The Manti was really nice, we even asked for it without yoghurt which was accommodated. We had the Sucuk Icll Citir Patates - home made chips. Again we had these without the usual meat and yoghurt but with a garlic, parsley seasoning - stunning!

The traditional kebab was nice, fun to see served however it was lacking in flavor compared to others I’ve tried in Cappadocia.

The Baklava desert was the best ever, it is made fresh at the time of ordering. Highly recommended.

The restaurant is a little out of the way but...

Such a beautiful hotel with breathtaking views, the food is really really good, the service is brilliant, and everything in the room is such high quality (the bed was really comfy, the shower was great, the furniture really good. All the little details). There is even a wood fire place in the room - which we loved. It gets restocked with wood everyday.

My husband said to me “I think this is the first time I’ve really felt like spending money on a hotel is worth it”. The only issue we had is that the wifi didn’t seem to reach our room - but we can get it on the terrace and in the restaurant, so it didn’t bother us.
