Dynasty Lounge and Restaurant — Restaurant in Kampala

Honest Review from what we experienced at Dynasty. We went to celebrate my nephew’s birthday on Monday 12/08/24. We researched online for good restaurants to gather as a family and cause we are tourists Dynasty Lounge and Restaurants took to our interest. The interior of the place looked good and you too will definitely love it if you are looking to dine in a luxurious restaurant.

When we walked in The restaurant was not busy as its was a Monday we assumed it’s a work day . The few tables that had customers on were mostly there to cut cake and have tea. Didn’t see many people ordering food.

Food- ordering our food the menu has Indian, Turkish and other foods. The food we ordered e.g Turkish lamb chops are not Turkish lamb chops. My niece, got served a cold Chicken burger and when we asked for it to be changed they took it back and warmed it. My other niece ordered a pizza which had a biter cheese tasty. When she told us the pizza is sour, we informed the staff and they made inquiries with the chef who told them they are trying out new cheeses from the suppliers and had ordered to many so it needed to be used. They did offer to make a fresh pizza with another cheese but you know kids my niece was put off and didn’t want to eat anymore .

All the Turkish dishes are actually Favoured in India or Pakistan spices so if you want Turkish food this isn’t the restaurant.

As a family of 12 people dinning at Dynasty when I say most of us did not finish the food you would think it’s an exaggeration but it is the TRUTH.

Service- the waiter, female manager and male manager were very helpful and polite. They really explained the situation and when we asked not to pay for the pizza and chicken burger they respected our decision. They wanted to know how they can get the food right and even the chef came out and we informed him of the situation and he apologised. The staff were nothing but amazing!!. The OWNER ( Indian gentleman ) on the other hand came to our table in a very hostile manner, very rudely asking us to pay for the full bill and will only give us 7% off. He didn’t listen to what we had to say. He is Extremely RUDE !!! And ill mannered.

He didn’t want to listen even when we explained the kids could have gotten food poisoning, cause who knows when the food (chicken burger) was made and the sour cheese ( dairy products) are not to be taken lightly . People have died from restaurants neglectance.

We had already spent so much on meals that we didn’t enjoy but the OWNER overly reacted to try save the little amount of burger and pizza. In our honest opinion it was a prideful choice for him to handle us in such manner but am sure he under estimated who we were and understood we will not tolerate such disrespect hence why he WALKED off!!! He assumed we were local customers and can treat us in any manner. Which I think that alone is disgraceful cause everyone should be treated respectfully.

We had no issues paying for the bills and didn’t want to leave sadly cause of the effort the staff paid us. We wanted to come back in future on our visit to Uganda and still come have some tea in the place like other customers were. BUT after the treatment we received from the OWNER we will definitely NOT be back and we advise YOU to spend your money...

Is uncoordinated and disorganised. It took 10 mins for us to get the menus. The drinks didn’t arrive after 30 minutes of waiting (a water and a green tea).

• Noise

The music was not only unpleasant but far too loud. People having a birthday party were playing their own music on top of the youtube music videos that were playing on a big screen? You couldn’t even have a conversation.

• The Food

Didn’t even get to try it! Because the drinks had already taken far too long and there was no service provider in sight to ask for any updates on the same.

• The worst part

This is the first time that my s/o and I walked out of a restaurant. We walked all the way to the front desk and told the lady that they would have to cancel our order as we were no longer comfortable eating in the establishment. The waiter (Daniel?) ran after us all the way to the car parking and insisted the food would be ready in 5 mins……..we actually started to walk back until he started rambling about how we do not respect him? He was extremely aggressive and untoward. Service level jobs are high stress, and many of the people in this field are overworked and under-appreciated, however this particular waiter was just plain rude!

Not all that glitters is gold.

Do not waste your time or money as there are far better food experiences to be had in KLA...

Dynasty Lounge and Restaurant is a hidden gem that deserves all the praise it gets! From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with warm hospitality and a beautifully designed interior that blends modern elegance with a cozy, relaxed vibe.

I’ve been here multiple times and it never disappoints. Highly recommended if you're looking for great food, great vibes, and excellent service...
