Encanto Restaurant & Bar — Restaurant in Kampala

This one caught me by surprise! I simply hadn't heard about it until now.

The restaurant is in a prime location and is easy to access. Not so easy for people with physical challenges, as there are two flights of stairs to navigate.

They've got the menu down on a blackboard in chalk - so I assume it varies regularly. The items were in choice appeared limited, but covered the spectrum. The waitress was knowledgeable and helpful in assisting us with making a choice.

The beers were ice cold and the food was absolutely delicious! The portion sizes were very small when compared to the price - but I'll still rate them positively given how tasty everything was.

The music was lively and energetic, though not so loud that we couldn't talk.

The seating was rather iffy - a few high tables outdoor, and terrible pallet options. But the view was mesmerizing and it was fairly pleasant.

The waitress was good fun, cheerful and happy. The bartender was courteous. You pay when you leave, and the cashier at the entrance/exit was friendly and cooperative.

Please note that losing your order card - even if it's empty - will attract a minimum charge of 150,000ugx (about $40 today). This is NOT a joke. If you don't intend to eat or drink anything, do not pick up a card at the entrance. While a weird system, the advantage is that everyone is able to settle their specific bill on the way out - no struggle to split an invoice!

There's no parking, so you'll have to use the public spaces in Kisimenti, or just park in the mall like...

Good Cuban/Spanish style bar restaurant I found the tapas very good, the seafood rice (paella style) good on rice but very little seafood (and moreover a paella style should have shrimps and mixed seafood, it was just a fillet of fish)

The waiters are very good The cocktails very well done The ambience nice

Two cons: The drink menu shows beers with a price not distinguishing between local, nonlocal or type of beer I took a banange and the price was higher than the one on the menu. It's ok but it must be stated on the menu.

A little bit hard to find, you reach sturrock road and you don't see clear indication, it's upstairs but we had to ask

All in all nice place but not clear prices and rice good but with little seafood come with a 4/5 It's still...

After visiting Encanto several times and finding it amazing, I got Encanto to cater for my twin toddlers birthday. The food was amazing and such good value, they give different menu options for both kids and adults with a great mix. The package also included a cake which was absolutely delicious and finished immediately. We also went for the option to rent their tables, stools and umbrellas which gave the garden an amazing vibe. Finally I cannot commend their customer service enough, everyone we dealt with was super professional, quick and really the staff on the day went above and beyond. Would definitely return for...
