Not a good experience, unfortunately.
Apart from the location, which is beautiful and central, I cannot recommend this restaurant.
This was our first time in a Middle Eastern country, and unfamiliar with the cuisine, we asked for recommendations on the best dishes for a group of eight. The ordering process was frustrating. Despite clearly stating we needed portions for sharing (e.g., two servings of each dish for four people to share), the waitress repeatedly added only one portion per dish. It took 30 minutes just to finalise our order.
We also ordered a grilled seafood platter, which looked great in the menu photo, but when it arrived, the scallops were missing. I raised the issue with the waitress, who insisted they had been served. After further discussion, she brought fried calamari instead of scallops. We reiterated that we wanted the missing scallops, and only after further delays did the manager admit they were unavailable. The manager offered free dessert as compensation, but instead of letting us choose, they brought out a fruit platter and 12 tiny pieces of baklava for our group of eightâhardly sufficient.
The service was consistently poor. Half of our group received their main courses 20â25 minutes before the rest, and when we requested lemons for the grilled fish, it took three reminders and arrived only after the food had gone coldâworse, they brought lime instead of lemon.
Throughout the meal, it was difficult to get the attention of waitstaff, and I often had to leave the table to find someone.
This was a business dinner, and I had hoped to provide my clients with a memorable experience. Unfortunately, it was memorable for all the wrong reasons. Given the restaurantâs location within a high-end hotel, I expected much better service and accountability.
Despite the numerous issues, no discount was offered. This is, without a doubt, the last restaurant I would choose...
Read moreIt was our first time going to the restaurant and from the start, they were very accommodating. We were indecisive as to where we wanted to sit and they were very patient.
They had an indoor shisha lounge as well as outdoor, where we could also eat at. The shisha in particular, they had many different flavours from light to strong. We went for something light, which was strawberry mintâ it was flavourful! Each time they passed by, they would check if the coal had gone cold, in which they topped up without us having to ask.
They had a variety of dishes to choose from. I, myself, chose hummus as cold mezzah, crispy baby calamari as hot mezzah, kebab habali as main course, dark chocolate camel milk cake as dessert and pepsi. As a result, it was all beautifully prepared, piping hot and full of flavour. Not dry or too juicy, just right!
As for their customer service, as mentioned earlier, very accommodating, they ensured we had everything we needed and checked on us when needed. If we ever needed a top up, they would gladly do it. Their mannerism would be marked more than out of 5!
Since it was three of us dining at Kamoon, we had a wheelchair user. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible, they have slopes to enter the vicinity, and an automatic door to enter the seating area.
To conclude this, I am very very satisfied with the level of customer service and would 100% recommend this restaurant.
Girgis (I hope I am spelling it correctly), thank you immensely for the level of customer service and to the rest of your team. Have...
