My husband is not a party brunch guy, he likes a classy affair and he likes to be able to carry on a conversation that isn’t drowned out by obnoxiously loud music. Both of us prefer ala carte brunches because no sane person wants to voluntarily shuffle back and forth between buffet lines, balancing plates piled high with eclectic menu items that are an abomination to each other (both visually and palatably). If you’re like my husband and I, just head to BB Social Dining, and thank me later.

What is quite possibly most impressive about this brunch is the price. Starting at AED 250, this has to be one of the most reasonably priced brunches in town. You can order 1 main course and dessert per person, but the elderflower sparkling is free-flowing (we had the non-alcoholic package) and the starters are unlimited, and that to me is the biggest...

For the most part, the food was great, service was friendly, and the environment was the right kind of casual for lunch.

My friend and I ordered dimsums and baos as part of the lunch menu and thought they were delicious. Very balanced flavors. However, when the ramen came around, we were slightly disappointed. As someone who does not usually order ramen outside of specialized restaurants, I admit that my unmet expectations are subjective to my experience. They did make great noodle soups, though.

The service was friendly and pleasant, but felt slightly inexperienced. As we were placing our orders, we each emphasized "vegetarian" and "wagyu beef" at least twice respectively, but was still asked to confirm after leaving to punch in the order. When changing our plates, our waiter grabbed the chopsticks by the part we put in our mouths to place them to the side before taking the plate. My friend also repeated that she was vegetarian and not vegan, but this did not get through and ended up with different noodles and no yummy jammy egg. Again, not a huge problem as she still enjoyed her noodle soup.

All in all, great experience, just a few points of improvement if I'm being nitpicky. Kudos to our waiter for being safe rather than sorry. Would definitely return to try...
