Visited Bombay Borough during Dubai Restaurant Week. The service is good, the staff very attentive, able to adjust and accommodate my mocktail specification. Ryan our host went the extra mile to inform the chef of my nut intolerance and allergy to ensure I can enjoy the mains. I had the Pink City cocktail - very tangy and refreshing. I have two concerns though which I gave as feedback in person but I feel it’s something that people visiting should note: 1) The portion sizes are tiny - not reflective of the price regardless of whether there is Dubai restaurant week promotion or if it were to be a business lunch. I have dined in several places where the food was equally as tasty with ingredients sourced from around the world and the portions were much more generous for that price. 2) I got charged 45 aed for a bottle of sparkling water when the Dubai Restaurant Week menu says a bottle of water is covered in the lunch option. When I queried this on receiving the bill, I was told that only applies to still water and not sparkling water - however this distinction was not mentioned at the beginning when the waiter offered a choice of still or sparkling water. This left a very sour taste in my mouth as even though the manager was informed of this by the waiter, he did not offer me a refund. 45 aed sneaky charge for something that I can get for 3 aed at Carrefour - I understand restaurant markups but this is silly especially when not informed it’s not covered in a menu price that includes a bottle of water The palette cleanser salted-caramel mango sorbet was the highlight and best thing overall. Nice atmosphere but unfortunately I will not be returning.

We love going for the iftar set menus and BB as they're always so spectacular but unfortunately this time it was a bit underwhelming. The 1st course - Iftar board was, quite frankly, an absolute joke, and this is me being generous. The starters comprised of 3 items out of which the prawns were delicious and the lamb croissant was tender and flavorful. However, the cherry tomato chat was basically tomato puree in a weird yogurty-mousse concoction. We then proceeded to the Hot plates- The Khaad murg was the stand out dish, crunchy, salty, perfectly cooked. The lamb was cooked to perfection as well. The quail dish however, was gamy, chewey, and tasteless. The main course of Lamb Rogan Josh was extremely underwhelming and I had to do a double take to confirm if we're actually at BB or a street-side cafeteria. The Chicken Biryani was ok- nothing great. The desserts were fine, but at the end of the day it was ice cream. Both the options were ice cream- so it's not really something I can rave about. A better dessert option would have satisfied the sweet tooth a bit more. BB is always so exceptional, I'm very surprised with how terribly the Iftar Menu was fumbled. Is it worth 225 aed per person? NO. There are MUCH better options available elsewhere. On a positive note, our server Gareth was brilliant. Very thoughtful, extremely respectful and helpful, and he made the somewhat mediocre dinner experience (taste wise only) a bit more enjoyable. Thank you Gareth, you were amazing! I'd rate the BB Iftar set menu at a 2.5/5. Skipping it, would be my recommendation.

So we had gone here for their dabba wala lunch set menu. They have a lot of choices to suit your different taste buds. They have 10 different Dabbas to choose from. Each dabba come with a salad or chat. One choice of appetizer and one choice of main. The main is paired with either rice or roti of your choice. Their Dabba options we opted for were 1. Nawabi Dabba : This came with A. Chatwala B. Rajputana Murg Soola- Shikaar masala flavoured kebabs. C. Tikka Kebab Biryani- Roasted chicken kebabs cooked with biryani rice. 2. Ammas Dabba : This came with A. Chatwala B. Ghee Roast Chicken- chicken marinated with dry roasted spices and cooked in pure ghee. C. Mutton pepper fry- roasted mutton cooked with Kerala pepper and caramelized onions. 3. Maharaja Dabba : This came with A. Chatwala B. Mihan Maas Tacos- Rajasthani spiced lamb tacos. C. Smoked Jodhpur Mutton- clove smoked lamb cooked in traditional brass handi. 4. Firangi Dabba : This came with A. House salad B. Malai Chicken Roast-chicken cubes lightly marinated in creamed yoghurt. C. Chicken Tikka masala- Roasted chicken in Punjabi Makhani sauce. For drinks we had 1. Rickshaw Refresher 2. Masala cola 3. Aam ki lassi- Mango lassi Over all the food was food. The food portions were good enough for one person. The presentation of the food gave us the home made tiffin feel to the food. Great vibe to place.

I stopped by a couple of days ago and did the chef tasting menu. I'm very glad I did so. First, I would like to thank Binita, she took good care of presenting the chef's work with professionalism.

Personally, when I go to a restaurant for something sophisticated and thoughtful, I am curious to understand the story and vision behind the chef's creation since there is always a story of tradition that cuts across the multiple meals the chef features.

Indian food, for once, is not an easy cuisine to elevate since it is great as it is. So the idea in my head was what to expect?

First is the experience and for me it was amazing, . The presentation and Binita's strong understanding and clear explanations made the process appear seamless.

Second is the combination of flavors that complement each other nicely from introductory selections to more complex takes on soup for example. The Haleem Kulcha regular size is already on my list during my next visit.

Third is learning something meaningful through food (sadly most people do not care for this aspect as they should) but for me learning about cooking in clay in India as well as knowing more about Kanji, which I did not know prior my visit, was worth it.

As a person who does a great deal of criticism as a regular job. I find myself trying to give suggestions for improvement but truly I cannot find anything major to suggest or criticize.

Please say my thanks to the chef and Binita for hosting me with such...
