Had the pleasure of dining at Avli in Dubai, and the experience was truly memorable. The atmosphere was lively, filled with good-looking people, though I seemed to be one of the few East Asians present, which, as a shy person, was a bit intimidating.
We opted for a main dish featuring zucchini, and octopus, both impeccably cooked. The beetroot salad was a delightful addition, and the presence of an 'early harvest' olive oil bottle on the table added a touch of excellence.
Notably, the soundproof windows in the bar area impressed me, effectively muffling the loud music. The bar's sound system was incredible, creating an immersive experience that occasionally made it hard to distinguish between my heartbeat and the deep bass. I couldn't help but wonder about the staff and bartenders' hearing health, though.
While I may not personally revisit Dubai, I would highly recommend here to anyone planning a visit, especially those who appreciate a vibrant atmosphere and exceptional culinary offerings. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience, and I extend my thanks to the establishment.
-1 star at atmosphere because As a Sydneysider, the shock of smoking being allowed inside a building or restaurant was palpable.
Spending a few hours there, I couldn't help but notice the lingering scent in my hair, likely a consequence of the indoor smoking. Despite this, I recognized that a person next to me was enjoying a cigar throughout our stay, so I attributed it to my partner rather than a specific issue with the establishment.
In the midst of it all, a highlight was the superb service from the staff. Even as I found myself a bit inebriated, the friendly and accommodating demeanor of the staff enhanced the...

Read moreYou know what, folks? Let’s break down the whole situation with those restaurants, and I’ll show you how I can add some serious value to this post. We’re going to dive into the nitty-gritty, but I promise to keep it as simple as telling a bedtime story to a 5-year-old.
Here’s the scoop: You walked up to one of Avli’s hosts, just looking to chill, have a seat, and enjoy a smoke in their outdoor area. Now, that’s where it all started because of a not-so-welcoming experience at Mina next door. Mina, they decided they wanted you out just because they said all their tables were reserved after 8:45 PM, including the one you were on.
Now, let’s get down to brass tacks. Both restaurants messed up big time from a customer service point of view. Mina should’ve handled things differently, so you felt like a valued guest. On the flip side, Avli could’ve seized the opportunity to make you feel right at home, but they didn’t.
From a business strategy angle, it’s all about communication and reservations, my friends. Mina overbooked and gave you the boot, not a good move. Avli, they could’ve won you over, but they missed the boat.
In a nutshell, these experiences teach us the power of top-notch customer service and smart business decisions. Make customers feel like gold, avoid missteps, and you’re on the...
