I visited Dubai in August/September for 9 days and had a wonderful stay at the Ritz. It's amazing that the staff remember their past guests by name and are always cheerfully greeting you at the reception by the likes of Sheila who is a true gem, restaurants and the executive lounge . The rooms at the Ritz are always comfortable and quiet and the bathrooms are nicely outfitted. The gym at the Ritz is one of the better hotel gyms I've come across. I am a Marriott Ambassador level member use the gyms regularly when traveling. The Ritz DIFC gym is one of the many reasons I choose to stay at this hotel. ||This trip, I used the executive lounge regularly and the staff are exceptional. Hats of to Nizam and Ronald for their great service and for chasing down coconut milk :). My sincere gratitude to Hussain who makes your visit to Dubai so much easier. Hussain provides assistance with anything you ask for and does an amazing job of it. ||The breakfast at Cara is exceptional and the all the staff are very attentive. Full buffet style dishes with a choices for freshly prepared dishe by chefs in the open kitchen. This is not your typical buffet. There are stations with chefs preparing different specialties from freshly made pancakes, waffles and crepes to indian and asian breakfast itemsand. ||Cafe Belge is a great reastaurant with a fantastic atmosphere. Cihan, the manager of the hotel never fails to check in to ask if there is anything needed. A real cheerful guy from Turkiye that is supported by an efficient staff. I'd also like to give a shoutout to Garia for the carton of coconut milk :). ||I'd like be remiss to not mention Nizam, the bellman that I met in 2017 and who does all the right things to make sure the guests at the hotel are always receiving special treatment. All the bellmen are great but Nizam has been there for such a long time and will come looking for me when he learns I've check in. He's a special guy.||I've spent months of time in Dubai this year and hotel comfort, food service and relialbe staff are very important, I am very particular about hotels and these compliments come from many nights of hotel living.||Christian, the GM and his entire management team should be complimented for an extremely well run operation. ||Michael...
Read moreThis is a difficult review to write because words cannot express how much we enjoyed our stay at the Ritz-Carlton, DIFC– and yet, here I am trying. Let me start by saying I have a soft spot for Art Deco and Ritz-Carlton, DIFC is an extraordinary example of Art Deco design. What I appreciate most of all is the consistency in design language. From the facade, to every aspect of the interiors including the lobby, the restaurants and the rooms are gorgeously designed and luxuriously furnished.
I can write pages upon pages of platitudes regarding the design alone but that's just one of the many things that makes the Ritz-Carlton, DIFC a fine place to stay. It's an excellent example of old-world charm. There's no garishness and the focus is more on comfort and elegance and comfort is something the Ritz does better than perhaps any other hotel I've been to. After a long day of work or play, I can't think of a better room to arrive at. The bed is comfortable beyond belief, the curtains can block out even the fiercest Dubai sun. The bathtub was more than big enough for me and I'm around 6'4".
The food at the Ritz-Carlton DIFC is delicious as well. Café Belge is a standout amongst standouts. You really don't ever have to leave the building for anything but if you choose to, you are surrounded by everything Dubai has to offer within minutes away. Centrally located doesn't even begin to cover it.
But, as is true for all great hotels I've been to, it's the service that makes the place. Michelle at the Check-in had us in the room so quickly and offered us all the information we would need over the course of our stay. Bishoy and Hannegil at the Club Lounge are always alert and available to make your stay as comfortable as they possibly can. Ajit and Geetika who hosted us at Le Cirque for breakfast were a wonderful addition to our mornings. And finally, Prizell was the most gracious when we were checking out. These are of course, a few of the many members of staff that make up the Ritz Carlton DIFC. My hat goes off to every one in Staff. I've been to Dubai quite a few times but the Ritz Carlton DIFC is one of the best hotels I have stayed at in the city. I'll have a hard time staying anywhere else next time I'm back in Dubai. A very easy...
Read more1/ the check in process was sub par. No information given on breakfast or facilities, the focus was an upgrade (junior suite) in lieu of the exec room, because you were overbooked
2/ the junior suite was clearly a reserve room you rarely use because of the noise from the bars and restaurants below in the difc promenade. If you compared that room to the rest of the floor it lacked the furniture and plant foliage the other rooms, Given it’s location it is perhaps the most exposed room. Again that implies you are fully aware yet still put me in that room without any warning.
3/ When I complained about music playing at I was immediately sent ear plugs so this is a common problem. Note to the hotel: The ear plugs do not remove the sound of the base thumping at 1am on Tuesday night. the room should be sound proofed, I recorded the noise - that level of noise on a weekday after midnight is completely unacceptable . It is beholden on a hotel such as yourself to take ever step to minimize that noise
4/ the lighting in the corridor is extremely bright. Your door is too short and the light comes through . Again I have taken a photo . Small detail but an error you expect in 3 star hotel.
5/ I requested a room change each day - none was given a you were “fully booked”.instead you put your customers in sub standard rooms.
6/you had a few conferences on,you clearly give that priority . It honestly felt like a zoo. I have stayed in hundreds of hotels and rarely left a bad review like this but this needs to be addressed
7/ I spoke to another colleague who arrived the next day - from a prestigious global investment bank , he said the same and had to wait 2 hours at your check out because despite his confirmation you had in your own error cancelled his room and your check in desk was woefully understaffed - with numerous customers complaining .
On a positive side I could see your staff were trying, your breakfast was excellent and well upto standard
Clearly you need to rethink, as we emerge from Covid how you ramp up your team but one thing is clear ( I have a PE business in hospitality) your staff need more support and training and your reservations team have over committed you. That is a failing of...
