Restaurant Review: Ichiryu Ramen House, Dubai – A Hidden Gem for Ramen Lovers
During my recent vacation in Dubai, I stumbled upon a delightful surprise tucked away in the city’s diverse culinary landscape — Ichiryu Ramen House, an authentic Japanese ramen restaurant that offers a solo sitting experience reminiscent of Japan's traditional ramen bars.
From the moment I stepped inside, I was welcomed warmly by the staff. Their hospitality was genuinely wholesome. Even though I’m quite familiar with ramen and its components, the staff took the time to patiently and passionately explain the different types of ramen and what makes each one special. I appreciated their effort and sat there listening attentively — it's not every day you find such engaged and informative service.
I placed my order for the Red Ramen with 2x spice, and I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly it arrived — within 5 to 7 minutes. The moment it was placed in front of me, I could tell I was in for a treat. The broth was rich, deep in flavor, and incredibly satisfying, while the noodles had the perfect firmness, soaking up just enough broth without getting soggy. It struck that rare balance between comforting and exciting.
Flavor-wise, the 2x spice level had a good kick — enough heat to awaken the palate without overwhelming it. For someone who enjoys spice, I would recommend going for the 3x spice level next time. But if you're not used to spicy food, 2x is more than enough to enjoy the depth of flavor without burning your tongue.
What truly made Ichiryu special for me was not just the food but the whole experience. The solo booth setup adds a quiet, personal touch, making it perfect for those who want to enjoy their meal in peace, much like the ramen culture in Japan. It’s a small but authentic touch that elevates the entire visit.
Final Verdict: Ichiryu Ramen House is a must-visit for anyone in Dubai who loves Japanese cuisine — especially ramen. Whether you're a ramen connoisseur or a first-timer, this place delivers a truly authentic and flavorful experience. I’ll definitely be returning on my next trip to Dubai, and this time, I’m going for the 3x...
Read moreI recently visited IchiRyu Ramen House with my husband, and it was a nice experience overall. My husband absolutely loved the red ramen he ordered—the broth was incredibly flavorful, and he couldn’t stop raving about it! I, however, ordered the chef’s special and didn’t find it as tasty, so maybe it just wasn’t the right pick for me. One thing we both agreed on was that the ramen wasn’t served very hot, which is something we feel enhances the overall taste.
We also tried the karaage chicken, which was delicious, especially with the tasty sauce that came with it. However, the large pieces were a bit difficult to manage with only chopsticks—it would have been nice to have a knife or some way to cut them easily.
On the positive side, their cold teas are amazing! I had the green tea, and it was so refreshing—definitely a highlight of the meal.
The decor of the restaurant is lovely and really brought us back to our time in Japan, where my husband proposed to me. That nostalgia added something special to the evening. However, we initially thought the dining experience would be more individual, similar to Ichiran-style ramen, but that might have been because we arrived late around 10 PM, and those booths seemed to already be closed.
One thing that bothered us was not being informed at the time of ordering that we needed to order dessert right away. When we finished our meal and wanted ice cream, we were told it wasn’t possible anymore. It would have been helpful if the staff let us know in advance, as this isn’t something we’ve encountered in Europe or other countries we’ve visited.
Overall, it’s a nice place to visit once in a while, and we appreciated the flavors, especially the cold tea and the ambiance. With a few small improvements in service and attention to detail, it could be...
Read moreI went here with two of my friends last night whom were starving and exhausted from hours of work. So we decided to get a ramen to give ourselves a nice and well-deserved dinner after our longgg day! Okay, granted the place when we came was jam-packed. We asked how many minutes is the waiting time for us to have our table, one lady said who’s doing the listing “it’s just 30mins.” Almost an hour passed, we still didn’t get our tables ready for us. the manager wasn’t as accommodating to us as she was doing to other customers plus, she was letting other customers after us to get their courtesies to sit and get their tables and took their orders while waiting but we weren’t entertained and attended much no matter how many times we followed up! She welcomed other incoming customers with smile and apologizing for the delays but none of it we’ve received from her even up to the last minute we were leaving the premises! Good food (not excellent , but not that bad) but bad customer service especially for that Filipina manager, Roda!! I would not recommend this place to others especially to my co-Filipinos bcos that Roda(manager) treats poorly of her own kabayan. With our experience, it’s the worst everrr!! I’ve been living in Dubai for 8 years now and dine to many eating hubs, whether fine-class dining or not, I’ve never experienced such kind of rudeness, inhospitable treatment from a restaurant staff!!
Do not come here if you would not want to lose appetite due to poor customer service and quite expensive food that’s not matching the authentic Japanese...
