For us a 'Buffet' is usually a not so happy affair considering the extremely vast spread that it has to offer and you being disappointed and not being able to try a lot of what they had to offer due to the limited size of ones tummy.
Grand Barbeque had a completely different package for us and we must admit we were quiet impressed with what they had to offer. From Chaat Counters to Pasta Live Station and the Mangolian live counters to vast salads and main courses to offer everything was very unique.
For a start we were informed that it is the GTR Food Festival that is going on at Grand Barbeque which basically means the Grand Trunk Road Festival and go through the trail of the food specialities of every city from Kabul, Lahore, Delhi, Amristsar, Kolkata and up to Bangladesh. We literally went on a trip across the GTR in just a couple of hours.
We started with the amazingly presented Pani Poori, Dahi Poori and Papdi Chaat platter along with the Paalak Chaat which is highly recommended to be tried by anyone visiting Grand Barbeque. We had never tried the Paalak Chaat and being surprised the head of service Nayim was friendly enough to let us know it is quiet a nice dish that can be tried at home as well - We are definitely taking this back home to try some time. Also for started we got the Chicken Wonton with some Grilled Corn with the best of seasoning.
With any Barbeque joint, the best and fun part is the 'Prepare your own grill' concept where the items are pretty much 95% cooked and you get to grill it to your liking with any seasoning that you like. We tried a skewer of Mushroom, Soya Chunks, Paneer, Potato for the Veg options and Malai Chicken, Chicken Tikka, Fish and our favourite being the Mutton Sheek Kebab for the Non Veg option.
For Main Course we tried the Dhaniwal Murgh, Murgh Makhanwala, Chandni Chownk ka Mutton Korma, Pakistani Haleem. Its interesting to note that famous and most sought after dishes in the GTR area are available at Grand Barbeque and this is perfect isnt it because you are literally spoiled for choices. The advantage of all Buffet outlets is that you can to taste a little bit of everything in the beginning and then have them all as to what you really liked - It was a bit confusing for us as everything was very tasty.
We loved the concept of Grand Barbeque where they are not just catering to the needs of all the taste buds but all the age groups as well - For kids they have the Pop Corn and the Soft Candy counters and trust us that if you have kids in 6-12 age group you know where to leave them. For Desserts we tried the Hot Jalebi made fresh just infront of you and some fresh Ice cream that is made fresh as well.
Overall we were extremely happy with our experience at Grand Barbeque and we totally recommend to everyone out there to try them out for a pretty pocket friendly...
Read moreReview It's always a pleasure being invited by different restaurants because they want your honest opinion and view about them! Grand Barbeque Buffet was no exception and we instantly booked our visit and made our way there with a huge appetite!
It was super easy to locate as its very close to the iconic Ibis hotel in Satwa! There is aplenty parking so no worry about that.
Ambiance Quite frankly, we underestimated the place and had a perception of it but everything changed when we arrived! It was 9:00pm then, and the majority of the Iftar crowd was about to leave so it was a bit bustling with activity and people!
The interiors will almost transport you to any other fine dine restaurant but update with bright light instead of the same old dim-light mood settings! A combination of gold and brown makes up for most of the place which makes it look quite royal honestly! Not bad at all, we thought! Also, the restaurant is HUGE! They say they can comfortably accommodate at least 250 diners at any given time. Wow!
The co-owner of the place had made arrangements for us in one of the "private-cabin" style rooms, which we thought is a great addition to any restaurant especially for large families that would appreciate some quiet and privacy to themselves!
The private cabin is very rare in restaurants in Dubai. I can literally count the number of restaurants that still have them and was completely impressed by the privacy and space of this particular version.
Food After we settled in and ordered our drinks we were escorted out of our cabin to the buffet area to pick our salads! There was a huge salad counter with at least 12 different varieties in veg as well as non-veg. They also had a ton of sauces to go with them as per the individual liking of the customer! My favourite was the chicken barbecue salad and the hummus! One of their special varieties was the pineapple salad which was basically thickly cut pineapple tossed in a balsamic-ish tangy dressing! Yum!
Verdict The food varieties are ENDLESS here with more than 80 dishes on offer from about 6 cuisines, and Iftar or no Iftar, you must go here to experience excellent quality food with a very reasonable price of AED 75/-. Where else will you get unlimited dimsums and chaat on an Iftar menu? Its definitely a steal and we highly recommend this place for a visit with the entire familia. Oh, and make a reservation for the private cabin!

Visited this place to try out some BBQ grills and we were amazed!!!! Been a fan of this place since the time they were located in Karama.
The staff here is friendly and the place is so spacious. Good for some serious parties to take place here.
They currently have the Hyderabadi Themed food and were told that they keep changing the themes to suit every foodie palates here.
We started off with the Chaat items like the Pani Puri / Dahi Puri / Sev Puri and were thrilled to what more is in store for us to experience.
We were told that the Pav were baked In-House and this is something awesome.
We tried the Pav Bhaji and I must say this is one of the few places which have got the Pav Bhaji's Bhaji right.
The chinese chicken wings starter was good too, but I would have had prefered it as boneless chicken. But that is alright.
The sweet potato starter was amazing as well. surprisingly we are still at the starters :) as they have an awesome spreadout of different food items.
The Kababs were ready to be served by now and Mutton Seekh Kabab was amazing and my Favourite out of the whole BBQ items. It was juicy and had the corect amount of spices to make it right. The Prawns in green spice was yummy. The fish was fresh and juicy. the chicken tandoori or the chicken malai boti were soft, tender, juicy and kept flowing till we ate and ate :)
Moving on to the main courses, the chicken biryani was amazing and had a nice aroma to it. Not many buffet places get their biryani right, but this place did tick in all boxes.
The icing on the cake (literally) were the sweet dishes to cater to one's sweet tooth had nothing wrong in them as well. The cakes were fresh. The Gulab jamuns were cooked perfect. The Lauki halwa and the Firni were mind blowing.
They also do have live counters to prepare pasta and serve you their awesome Shami Bun Kababs which were amazing as well.
Kids also get to experience chocolate fountains and popcorn :-D
Big thanks to Ms Bhumi and Mr Rahul who were hospitable and made sure all their guests are content and happy.
One person who you need to look out to serve you is Mr Arun. Who was warm, friendly and made sure the kababs kept flowing and made sure if everything was alright and ready to serve before we finished our sentences :)
