McGettigan's DWTC — Restaurant in Dubai

Disgusting attitude and complete disrespect of staff and managers towards their customers. Yesterday, we decided to visit McGettigan’s DWTC. It is worth noting that I am a regular customer and love this chain of bars, but I have never been to the location located in the Lord Trade Center. Everything was amazing, as always, until we got the bill. I would like to note three crucial points that disappointed me and completely ruined the evening

1. I asked the waiter who was not working at our table if we could take advantage of the Fazaa or the Entertainer discount. He said no because we didn't order anything from the main menu. I told him we ordered a steak from the main menu, which caused his surprise. He went to check with his more experienced colleague, and she confirmed that we could take advantage of the Entertainer discount, buy 1 get 1 free. I said I'll order a steak and take it with me.
2. After sending the order to the kitchen, the waitress asked me to check my Entertainer, which was paid for and working. After several attempts, she could not find this restaurant in the program, and her colleagues couldn't either. It’s worth noting here that I also didn’t think about switching the program back from Abu Dhabi to Dubai. Then, a restaurant would be found. But then the fun began. Not finding a restaurant in the interior, the staff refused to give me a discount. In addition, I was told that since the steak was already cooked, I had to pay for it, which had already been included in the bill. I replied that I would not pay for the steak since it was not my fault, and the promised discount was not provided to me. After that, I decided to clarify the issue with the manager. And I was shocked by his manner of communicating with visitors. Trying to make me look like a fool, he tried to convince me in a raised voice that it was entirely my fault and no one else’s. He rudely rejected all my objections that the staff check the Entertainer first. The second manager on duty also spoke to me approximately. Ultimately, they told me that if I admitted my guilt, I would be given a discount!!! What? Is this a pub, or is it a court? After saying I would call the police, the second steak was removed from the bill.
3. The final bill included wine, which we did not order. Without apologizing, the waiter quickly removed the wine from the bill. As a result, the whole situation ruined a perfect evening. Unfortunately, this bar does not know what customer service is and is utterly incapable of resolving conflict situations...

Your manager at DWTC is extremely rude and incompetent. I had a premium pint voucher which he refused to allow me to use, even though I told him before asking for the bill to apply the discount.

Finally he comes around and says he’ll use the voucher but ‘ he’ll kick me out of the program’

This is just stupid and unbelievable! It’s not even about a free drink here, which I’m more than happy to buy and have done so numerous times. It’s about using a voucher that I’m entitled to use and then getting spoken to rudely by the manager! Why on earth would this voucher be declined if I informed the server of my intention to use it before the bill was generated?

To add to the bizarreness of the whole situation. The voucher states that one needs to inform the server before the bill is generated, which I happily did. It also states that it can’t be combined with any other offer, and I never for once asked for it to be combined with anything else. The manager rather bizarrely insisted that he’s punched it under happy hour pricing!! It’s a free drink voucher, how on earth does it matter whether he punched it under regular pricing or happy hour pricing/ and also why is that my problem? I informed the server before the bill was generated that I wanted to use the voucher, only for the manager to go ballistic on me!

The manager threatened to delete my account, and he can do it by all means. I don’t think I want to come back to a place run by rude people like this guy. In fact I’ve already deleted my account and have no intention of returning.

Seriously, something needs to be done about the kind of people you guys hire to run the place. You’ve lost one customer and you’ll probably lose a lot more if you have rude and arrogant people like him...
