A Heartfelt Thank You to Voco Hotel Dubai City
When we booked our stay at Voco Hotel Dubai City, we anticipated the high standard of service that one naturally expects from a five-star hotel in Dubai. What we didn’t expect, however, was just how truly memorable our experience would be!
A few exceptional individuals made our stay extraordinary. Radvan at the front desk deserves special recognition—his dedication, passion, and commitment to excellence set him apart. He doesn’t just meet expectations; he exceeds them, embodying the true essence of hospitality. Another standout team member is Akshaya, also from the front desk. When we faced some challenges with housekeeping during our extended stay and room transition, I was prepared to express my disappointment. However, Akshaya’s professionalism, attentiveness, and impeccable service completely turned the situation around—an outstanding example of hospitality at its finest!
Every morning, we were warmly welcomed by one of the two delightful hostesses at the breakfast desk. Their friendly demeanor, politeness, and ever-present smiles made a wonderful start to each day, and we truly appreciated their kindness.
That being said, there is one aspect of our experience that fell short of expectations. The 51st-floor bar, despite offering breathtaking views, did not quite live up to the standard set by the rest of the hotel. Service was inattentive, and staff seemed disengaged—no recommendations, no refills, and drinks that didn’t quite match the prestige of the venue. Additionally, the fact that smoking was allowed detracted from the overall ambiance. A little bit of TLC and training would turn the outlet into a good competition to Black Mirror and Room 505.
On a brighter note, the executive lounge was exceptional—impeccable service, delightful food and drinks, and a truly relaxing atmosphere. Our one-bedroom King Suite on a higher floor was absolutely worth the extra investment, offering comfort, elegance, and fantastic views.
A special mention also goes to the spa team for providing a top-tier experience. The female hairdresser deserves particular recognition—her talent, creativity, and genuine care in attending to my wife and daughter made her a true artist in her craft.
Overall, our stay was nothing short of fantastic. We are already looking forward to returning and, in the meantime, will be wholeheartedly recommending Voco Dubai City to friends and colleagues.

Read moreIt's been already 3 days I'm calling to your hotel and trying to find out an answer on my simple question which is how much is IHG employee discount!!! Third day and still anyone from reception to reservations and operators didn't give me any answer. Reception keep saying we will transfer your phone call with reservations, they even didn't listen but immediately transferring to that department, I was telling them no need to transfer just answer on this simple question please and few reseptionists told me we don't know, sorry which discount??? I asked them do you know that your hotel is a part of IHG group or you guys don't know where you are working? Then 13th of March they transfered me with reservations, and fillipino lady answered and seems she was drunk it's how her voice and tongue were sound. She keep asking me which discount? which,which?? I was simply shocked! And then she asked when is your reservation, I said I don't have a reservation, I just want to know how much is discount before I will book. No answer, she hang the phone. All this days I was talking with not polite, not educated at all staff who doesn't know the simple answer. I'm working in one of the hotels which is IHG, in our hotel we don't have such not professional employees and attitude to our customers, anyone even can't say to a guest that they don't know something and always trying to satisfy each guest! Today I was talking with reservations and she told me that IHG discount every day is diffent, I asked her what do you mean, how come? In all hotels every day IHG discount is the same and fixed but in yours is different, what a non sence?! This lady is also fillipino and she raised her voice on me. Same as receptionist can't listen till the end and interrupting! I asked all of them to connect me with a manager, no one didn't connect me with manager from reservations to reception! Keep asking my name, and telling that they can't connect with manager, and even with duty manager! I'm shocked! Read moreI had an incredible stay at Voco, and I'd like to commend the outstanding staff who made my experience memorable.
Firstly, I had some initial concerns with the food, but the exceptionally professional and efficient Ms. Rubi quickly addressed them by communicating my feedback to the team. She also provided complimentary fruits along with a very thoughtful apologetic letter, which was much appreciated.
During my one-week stay, Krishna catered to all my needs, providing exceptional service. I especially enjoyed the daily avocado toast, tailored to my preferences—kudos to Krishna and the chefs for their excellent work. Krishna also gave me a very nice letter and cookies, which was a lovely gesture. The attentive and reliable Isabella was also a great help during the weekend, ensuring that I had everything I needed.
The sales team, led by the amazing and friendly Ms. Mercy, was fantastic. They were accommodating and removed all obstacles to ensure our workshop at the 49th floor was a success. Ms. Mercy even organized an upgraded corner room for me with great views of Dubai. Their efforts made our stay and workshop truly memorable.
The ever-ready and efficient Shiran was always available to assist with urgent needs, resolving issues promptly and handling our printing requirements seamlessly.
Nour, Enamel, Lahiru, and Neil provided fantastic support during our workshop. They took care of our needs, including food, printing, sound, and lighting, ensuring everything ran smoothly. Nour, with her vigilant attitude, Enamel, with his dependable nature, Lahiru, with his keen assistance, and Neil, with his resourceful support, all contributed to a successful and smooth workshop.
I also want to highlight the amazing organization and very efficient process of having a seat during breakfast, which made the mornings pleasant and hassle-free.
