Wok & Co — Restaurant in Dubai

I'm staying at the Ibis One Central for 5 nights (room 521), and this restaurant was the closest being off the main reception. After reading a few reviews I thought it worth a try, but I was mistaken. I arrived about 8pm and the place was quite dead, just a few customers. It is listed as "Smart casual" although some customers were wearing flip flops, t-shirt and sporty shorts. That's not my definition of smart casual.

The first server led me to my seat and I asked for the menu, but was offered a scan code for my phone. When the server couldn't get this to work on my phone, she tried hers but it was too slow to browse the menu. I asked for a traditional menu, and eventually got one.

After choosing an item I was told that the price would be higher, as the printed menus were old. 10 minutes later a different server told me the item I chose wasn't available anyway, as it was from an old menu. The second server showed me the menu on her phone and I eventually chose a mixed grill for 110AED. After a while the meal arrived. It was bland, under seasoned and and the fries were tasteless.

Not once during the meal did they ask if it was to my liking. I left half of it, it was well below average. I waited for around 30 minutes after the meal and none of the servers showed up, so I walked to the counter to pay. I am an exhibitor at the conference centre, and previously informed the server about the 20% discount they offer on their own website to exhibitors. They seem to have no idea about this. When I asked to pay at the counter, they had not deducted the 20% and laughed when I suggested the discount again. When I showed them the website they called the manager, who first said no to the discount. When I mentioned again it was on their own website, the manager honoured the discount. I should have not had to go through this procedure . It was an embarrassment. Again, I was not asked if I enjoyed the meal. 0/0 for customer service. 2/10 for the meal itself, and 2/10 for the environment which was downright boring.

Looking for a date night? We found the perfect den in Wok & co. at Ibis One Central. Wok & Co is a pan-asian fusion restaurant. And that is something you can see that in each and every dish of theirs. The centric location, makes this place on our go to place. But first we really need to talk about this stunning place and the most gorgeous interiors. It is done in colour combination of red all around. Extremely classy and such good use of lights all around. The restaurant is huge, with a capacity of over 400, which can cater to large groups for all your special occasions. This is their breakfast buffet restaurant as well. They even have a huge outdoor set up, and we can’t wait to try that in the winters. And for all those of you who like your personal space, they have these pods which are so private and cute! They also have a beautiful bar. Although we did not try the alcoholic beverages this time, we did try the fruit punch. And in this heat it is the most refreshing, perfectly balanced thing you shall have. Calmed us down right after we entered from the scorching heat.

And now it’s time for us to show you some of the best Asian fusion food around UAE. We had an extremely lavish meal. To be very honest it was very hard to choose from their extensive menu. Asian food is a cuisine we both relish to our hearts content. Probably thats why we run to South- East Asia every chance we get. So please understand our excitement when we heard they have papaya salad and Tom Yum Soup!!!! So of course we had to have that, but like we said it was all fusion and a vast menu! But wait, thats not all that we tried. Along with these we had the Crispy Calamri, Signature Dynamite Prawns, Lamb Shank, Sambal Gorang Samudra Wok, Seafood Curry and Cantonese Fried Rice. I had a great pleasure visiting dubai for business purpose yet again for about 5 days during the month of June 2020.Dubai have always been a happening place again for me on a good note. it has never disappointed me so far. One day I decided to go to Ibis one central -world trade centre,Dubai for lunch with my clients. we all dropped in together at Wok & Co ,an asian cuisine. It was around 2pm ,local time of UAE that we were out there for lunch.Atmosphere was cosy, restaurant was full with patrons due to afternoon lunch time. We were escorted to our table by their hostess Anjali with pleasant smile and I found anjali to be very pro active and knowledgeable,She not only had given me the food menu to choose from but also recommended me with specialities of Wok & Co Restaurant. She recommended me to have their chicken salad, which was very aromatic. It was their sea food curry which I enjoyed a lot. it was an unbelievable experience which I had of visiting Ibis one central and especially having been to the Wok & Co,An Asian Cuisine was really a great pleasure. Anjali was very helpful and she not only ensured about quick service of the food but also ensured that we all were happy, she is the perfect blend of knowledge. she is very courteous. Employees like Anjali are truly an asset to the company they would work with. I feel privileged to have visited one of the best Asian Cuisine at Ibis one Central in Dubai & I will definitely visit there once again to quench my cravings for different varieties in food that wok & co serves.
