22 June 2025
Dear Yann Couvreur Management,
I am writing to formally raise a complaint regarding an incident of unprofessional and discriminatory treatment I experienced at your branch.
On 22 June 2025, I was standing in line with two other companions, waiting patiently for our turn to be seated. When our turn arrived, I politely requested to sit at a sofa table that had just been vacated by a group of three people — the same number as our party. I had seen them pay and leave, so I proceeded to take a seat.
At that moment, your staff member, Wissam, approached me and stated that the table was “reserved.” I asked for clarification, as I had not seen any reservation sign, and I was under the impression that your establishment operates on a walk-in basis. He responded that sometimes you do accept reservations. I then asked, “So, can I reserve a table as well?” to which he sarcastically replied, “Are you an old man?”
I was shocked and offended by this response. It was not only disrespectful but also discriminatory and entirely inappropriate for a customer-facing employee. Moreover, the person he claimed the table was reserved for arrived shortly after, and he was a young man — contradicting the justification given by Wissam. This further highlights the inconsistency and lack of professionalism in the way the situation was handled.
This experience left me deeply disappointed with the level of service and professionalism at Yann Couvreur. I trust your brand stands for hospitality and inclusivity, and such behavior undermines that reputation.
I ask that this matter be investigated seriously and that appropriate action be taken. I also request a formal apology for the disrespect I received during what was supposed to be an enjoyable visit.
I look forward to your prompt...

Came to Yann this morning before going to work at one central. Today I wanted to celebrate myself, it was my birthday yesterday. So I ordered a firefox truffle. I usually come for the coffee and not early, so my waiter Mr. Wissem was fast to notice the difference. He asked and I answered that the unusual order was a self treat. The firefox was amazing.
1st Gift: After the firefox Mr Wissem came with a little treat which was equally amazing. 2nd Gift: Now while enjoying my breakfast in the sun, Mr Wissem, in the background, does a small kindness to a random worker. Small, but significant for that person. I was so moved by this small kindness, because it shows that regardless of your position etc you can still be a positive force and do good to others.
No doubt that Yann Couvreur allows their employees to do such deeds which indicates that they understand quality service and facilitate kind souls at Mr Wissem to be happy and make others happy while working. BRAVO!
3rd Gift: Last but not least, I praised Mr Wissem for his behavior, and he shared some gems of knowledge with me about positivity. I left Yann Couvreur happy and positive. That is a 5 stars customer experience!!

Read moreI was so excited when I knew that Yann Couvreur has a branch in Dubai, and after a very pleasant tasting experience in Paris, when I tried the three super stars desserts of Yann’s, the Paris Brest, the Pecan tart, and the pistachio cake which I fell in love in them all, so I rushed to grab some cakes from Dubai branch. Unfortunately the desserts weren’t up to my expectations at all. The Paris Brest Choux pastry was soggy and very moist like it was old in the fridge missing the praline paste on top, not what I tried in his patisserie in Paris. The pecan tart was different and of a weak quality, not the same caramel the pastry crust was a bit wet and there was no generous amount of Pecans on top of the cream. The pistachio was the best but for me what I tasted in Paris was much more delicious. I also ordered and paid for-two other pieces one of the two was a marble slice cake which I didn’t find in my cake box when I arrived home. I really wonder why there is a lack of quality control when Yann is a big...
