Extremely Disappointed – Worst Birthday Experience Ever

We chose Pasha Sarayi at Mercato Mall to celebrate my birthday, expecting a pleasant evening but it turned out to be one of the worst dining experiences we’ve ever had.

From the moment we sat down, the service was shockingly poor. There were no tissues on the table, and despite requesting 4–5 times, no one brought them until much later. We had to repeatedly ask for even the basics glasses for water, cleaning the table, basic attention from the staff. Every request had to be repeated 3–4 times. It felt like the staff either didn’t care or weren’t trained at all.

The waiters were unresponsive and completely lacking in courtesy not even the bare minimum you’d expect from a restaurant claiming to offer a quality dining experience. Even serving the birthday cake (which we had informed them about in advance) was delayed unnecessarily. They brought it after a long wait, completely killing the moment.

To make things worse, we paid the full bill, and only while leaving did we discover the cake wasn’t included, and we were asked to pay again. This shows complete lack of communication and coordination among staff.

Honestly, it was a deeply frustrating and embarrassing experience especially on a day that was supposed to be special. I strongly urge the owner or management to seriously look into their service standards and retrain or replace staff, because what we experienced is completely unacceptable for any restaurant let alone one in a mall like Mercato.

Pasha Sarayı at Mercato Mall continues to impress with its authentic Turkish flavors and warm hospitality. We ordered the mixed grill, chicken wings, hummus, and freshly baked bread, and every bite was outstanding. The meats were tender and perfectly seasoned, and the hummus was smooth, rich, and paired beautifully with the warm bread.

A special shoutout to Muhammad, who remembered us from our last visit during Ramadan. His service is consistently excellent, attentive, friendly, and personal, which truly enhances the dining experience. Wish him all the best in his life!

Also worth highlighting is the in-house barista (Ronald) with 15 years of experience, who crafted two exceptional drinks for us: the Matcha Latte and the Pistachio Latte. These are recent additions to the menu, and thanks to Ronald’s expertise, both were flawlessly balanced in flavor and presentation.
