Saarangaa Bhojan Shala Dubai Marina — Restaurant in Dubai

This place is probably the only under-priced restaurant around the pin(maps). I have been eating there for over a year intermittently and I give them a 5 star simply because all elements of their service is spot on.. The service is quick and humble waiters(Manohar, Murga, Manoj, Ganesh) even the manager and the cashier live up to their jobs real well. The food is delicious and there hasn't been a fluctuation in taste for the whole year... The taste is balanced that frequently eating there wouldn't bore you. And the Price is the kicker, simply unbelievable for that area. What doesn't rock my boat is... I love the tea, but it is a tad too milky at times for my taste but that copper metal chai is 'Yum'. Their sweets are somewhat sweet... I don't know if it is me weaning off sugar but when i indulge I usually run back home for no reason. And that music on their restaurant video playing on loop from 08:00 - 22:30 will soon unleash the psychopath out of someone. (konjum over-illeya?) The video sure is appealing though but after viewing it for 8,300,654 times one makes peace. I would recommend they get picture menu with small details because i've noticed lot of westerners who come stare and walk away because they need to be guided on what they can or must try. But the westerners who know SBS... you must watch them devour! :)

Veg Thali – 9/10 A delightful spread featuring brinjal, bottle gourd, beetroot thuruval, green peas, sambar, and spinach—beautifully complemented by yogurt, buttermilk, and pickles. A well-balanced and flavorful selection.

Chili Paneer – 9/10 Surprisingly convincing—could’ve sworn it was chicken! Easily one of the most memorable paneer dishes I’ve ever had.

Masala Dosa – 9/10 Crisp and buttery, with a rich potato filling that hit all the right notes. A classic done exceptionally well.

Ras Malai – 7/10 Decent, but didn’t quite match the excellence of the other dishes.

Milk Pudding – 9/10 Creamy, comforting, and perfectly sweetened. A standout dessert.

Service & Hospitality Karuppiah Jee guided us with thoughtful recommendations—the Thali and Chili Paneer were spot-on. Suresh and Muthu provided attentive, courteous service throughout. The staff was proactive, offering timely refills and checking in with genuine care. A special mention to Manager Prabhatkumar, who personally served rice with garlic powder and ghee—an unexpected gesture that made us feel truly honored...

Every branch of theirs especially Marina serves really good food with that as priority and ofcourse the fact that Marina will be less crowded went to go ahead with the special Vishu Sadhya offering today at 41dhms with 16 ppl and it was a total disaster. They served the normal thaali with a 2-3 extra dishes in a steel plate with banana leaf cut and placed inside like the normal days. First time ever on a Vishu day I had a Sadhya in a steel plate not even during Covid days this has happened. No where in the world Vishu Sadhya would be marketed and given in a steel plate. I have gone happy on all other days but today was total disappointment. The review is purely for the Vishu Sadhya. Plz call and clarify before u go to a place for Sadhya esp if not a hardcore Kerala restaurant. Lesson learnt. Also expected SBS to be more responsible and not this stupid and that too at this price.
