Marina Pot Restaurant — Restaurant in Dubai

New 24/7 hours restaurant cafe at the end of Dubai Marina. South Indian management with South Indian style breakfast including non-veg + vegetarian options and one hour of free wifi. Expect mishaps due to new staff.

Taste: 1/5⭐ = Mushroom cheese Burger @16dhs [Totally bad, not going to recommend]

4/5⭐ = french fries [Regular frozen french fries]

5/5⭐ = 50% Avacado 50% Mango juice [Nice freshly made juice, would recommend]

1/5⭐ = Hasan Matar Chicken shawarma @10dhs. [The wrap bread messed it up. Dry flavor and the sauce isn't tasty at all, the chicken is not cut into small enough pieces.]

1/5⭐ = Chicken Shawarma @ 7dhs. [Thin wrap bread shawarma. Almost a foot in length but very slim due to the press of the grill. Something is definitely wrong with the meat, process or recipe.

5/5⭐ = karak chai (regular milk) @2dhs [Your usual Malabar style Karak chai.]

Environment: Typical karama style restaurant in Marina.

Outdoor seating was nice (in December). Don't think it would be wise in summer months.

Good place for a quick bite.

Pros: Open 24/7.

Outdoor TV plays soccer channel for those interested.

Menu consist of Indian/Pakistani/Filipino/Chinese and Oriental main courses.

Good selection were available on the menu to be honest.

Free one hour wifi.

Cons: No grilled items at the moment. Something up with the kitchen.

Food doesn't look like the menu items. (Obviously stock images).

Waiter kept forgetting stuff, so had to remind more then two times. New staff, probably still...

I made the order of sri lankan fried rice and pepsi without cool at 1.00 pm today. They delivered to me at 2.30 pm. at the same time I felt the pepsi is cold. I told delivery guy I ordered a pepsi without cool but this is cool one you have delivered. and he said, " I am so sorry, keep it under the sun for 2 mins it will be ok then". surprisingly I said its ok and came back to the office.

But, when I came and opened it thats not a sri lankan fried rice(Pic 01). I called them again and informed. they said sri lankan chef is on vacation, so that was prepared by an indian chef, so its an indian fried rice now. again he transferred the phone to his manager, he asked me to send a picture of the delivered fried rice(Pic 01). Then he said ok its a mistake he will send sri lankan fried rice within 20 mins.I asked him clearly who is gonna prepare that if the sri lankan chef is on vacation?? he said I have 5 chefs, they all know how to prepare the sri lankan fried rice. again I believed them.

3.20pm they came with the sri lankan fried rice(Pic 02). That was the same indian fried rice with hot sauce. even cannot eat. what I believe is chef was angry with me as I returned the old order so he has intentionally added hot sauce more. and I told them that they dont know about sri lankan fried rice.

not recommending to anybody. meals, service, communication, time management everything is week. one of the worst...

We come here everyday, so for everyone, who wants to have a all-over-review, here you go!

Location

The Marina Pot is located just one street behind the Marina Walk. They have around 6 tables inside, and lots of tables outside. The view outside is nice (especially in the evening), because you can see the mosque and the skyline. Inside the ambient is honest - nothing fancy, just real good food. The outside tables are shady until 12 am, so having breakfast outside is absolutely possible.

2.Food

The food is just awesome, always super freshly prepared and perfectly spiced! The prices are more than fair, considering to be in a tourist hotspot. The menu is huge, so everyone will find something to eat. You can have an greek omelette for 20 to share, and two people will be satisfied by the portion. We tried everything, from Indian Food to Burgers, and loved it all. The fresh made cherry juice is just as tasty as the homemade karak tea.

Staff

The people are friendly and fast, especially Bimal. This nice guy never gets tired of all our extra wishes, explains every dish perfectly for foreigners like us and always has a good and honest recommendation (in case you can not choose between all...
