Skafos: A Magical Christmas Feast with a World-Class Soundtrack
It's not often you find a Christmas brunch that ticks all the boxes, but Skafos by Hilton at Al Seef managed to do just that, from the enchanting venue and impeccable service to the culinary journey through the Mediterranean. And let's not forget the soundtrack - the DJ was world-class!
From the moment we arrived, my family and friends were captivated by the welcoming atmosphere, amplified by the infectious beats spun by the talented DJ. The music perfectly complemented the vibe, adding a touch of festivity and keeping everyone's spirits high. It was the perfect blend of Christmas classics and modern hits, expertly mixed to create a lively yet relaxed atmosphere.
Staff that sets the standard: Muthu and Negi, the restaurant and F&B managers, exuded warmth and professionalism, ensuring everything ran smoothly. Shital, our server, was the star of the show. Attentive, calm, and always a step ahead, she navigated the bustling brunch with exceptional grace. The entire staff deserves high praise - their experience and dedication shone through every interaction.
A culinary journey : The live stations were a true marvel. The roast turkey was moist and flavorful, the beef Wellington a masterpiece of pastry and perfectly cooked meat. But the crown jewel was the fresh seafood, fried to perfection and served with divine sauces. Salads, both vegetarian and non-vegetarian, were plentiful and beautifully presented. From the fresh seafood flowing constantly to the vibrant salads, every dish was a testament to the chefs' skill and use of quality ingredients.
Drinks to toast the season: And let's not forget the drinks! Exquisite cocktails delighted everyone, while the warm, sweet, and tangy mulled wine provided the perfect Christmas touch. Shital kept our glasses full without ever missing a beat, even during the busiest moments.
A setting that steals the show: The Al Seef Creekside location added an extra layer of magic to the brunch. Watching dhows glide by while enjoying delicious food, vibrant company, and a world-class soundtrack made for an unforgettable experience.
More than just a brunch, it was an experience: Skafos delivered a Christmas brunch that wasn't just about the food and drinks, but about the genuine warmth and excellence of the staff, the enchanting setting, and the joy of sharing laughter and memories with loved ones. It was a perfect taste of the spirit and hospitality, and we left feeling utterly satisfied and ready to face the rest of the holidays.
A big thank you to the entire Skafos team, including the fantastic DJ, for making our Christmas brunch truly special. Keep up the good work, and we'll definitely be...
Read moreWent to this dreamy place where the food is interestingly very different than what we had been tasting all around and the location is much like a reverie. I’d like to call it more like a floating restaurant over sea. The place is so serene that I didn’t want to come back home and wanted to stay there for long. Talking about their food, they’re offering a eastern fused buffet on Fridays and on regular days are their special food menus. We opted for Friday brunch buffet. There’s a live grill station where the chefs were busy in making the yummy and fresh food for the guests. There were grilled and roasted prawns, roasted potatoes, sautéed vegetables, grilled lamb pieces, and grilled chicken. They called this Paella Live station and grilled chicken was our favorite most as it was spicy and naughty like salsa. They were making their special dish called payaya which is a Spanish dish. It had fresh mussels, prawns and quinoa rice and their specific seasoning on it. It was a very different but good one. Moving towards their cold starters, they had burrata, kale and burnt corn, artisan olives and smoked beef carpaccio. Well this was a very delish section too. In their hit starters they had charcoal pedron peppers, crispy white bait and lamb keftedes. Their dessert buffet was my favorite the most. Like I have been to countless restaurants and cafes but I haven’t treated my sweet tooth like this before. They had a great variety of desserts ranging from fresh fruits to confectionary to chocolate munchies. The best thing was they had a kids corner too in which they were serving cotton candy and pop corns and chocolates fondues. Their dessert section is definitely a winner for me. They had a live Dj station where dj was playing some good music too. There was a big bar for drinks of all kinds from which we ordered virgin classic and strawberry mojitos and found them good enough. Their chefs Don and Nelson are doing great job in serving the best food to the guests. Specially the head chef and Mr. Don who was a gem of a person too. He kept in engaging my kids too and won my heart there. There server Ms Nafeesa was a girl with a golden heart and served us with the grill every time we asked for table service with a bright smile. Rest the staff was really weird and dull all the time. I don’t know why they’re so dead that they’re not even welcoming us. I found their behavior a little rude. But when the place is great with awesome food then such little things...
Read moreI am writing to express my deep disappointment regarding the dinner my husband and I had at your restaurant this evening at your restaurant on the 4th of June. The chicken dish lacked freshness and was accompanied by what seemed to be instant mashed potatoes, which immediately made both of us feel unwell. When I asked the waitress, she immediately replied that the dish was made only from real potatoes but that they added parmesan, hence the strange taste. I am not a cook, but I know how to recognise the taste of instant mashed potatoes. I feel anyone, by looking at this photo, can tell that it is, and in addition, that the chicken was just reheated and clearly not cooked fresh. The cheesecake dessert tasted of rancid butter and appeared to be past its expiry date. This should never have been served, especially considering how dangerous dairy products can be when exposed to bacteria or not properly refrigerated. When I raised the issue, we were offered a plate of fruit as a replacement. However, the watermelon was not fresh, and the rest of the fruit was bland and tasteless. We ended up leaving most of it uneaten. Shortly after dinner, both my husband and I began experiencing bloating, stomach cramps, and sweating—clear signs of food poisoning. We went for a short walk in the hope of feeling better, but things only worsened. Our evening plans were ruined; instead of enjoying cocktails as intended, we both had to go to bed early feeling unwell. By 12:30 a.m., I became seriously ill. I couldn’t stay in bed due to severe stomach cramps, which were followed by intense sweating, vomiting, and diarrhoea. I had to go to the bathroom multiple times throughout the night—four episodes in total—until around 5 a.m., when I finally managed to get some rest. It was a deeply unpleasant and...
