Somewhat disappointing visit to Frankie and Benny's. We went as a group of 6 with a booking, including two children. We were shown to our table quite quickly with menus and a drinks order was taken. We ordered a range of food, I had chicken parm spaghetti and somebody else had a calzone. The food took a while to come, and when it did, the dish wasn't very hot, and the spaghetti was undercooked. The chicken was good, tasty and tender, but wasn't massive. My only other recentish visit to Frankie and Benny's was in London, and that was very good, but this fell some way short of that. All-in-all a middle of the road experience, with decent service from the serving staff, not so much so from the cooking side. If it had been quicker we might have had dessert, but we had a bus to catch.

Terrible experience. Had to que as only one waitress working. There was about half a dozen people being served. I ordered avocado on toast with poached eggs for £8.95. The bread appeared to be long life cheap and nasty bread, the avocado must've been a scrape from inside an avocado skin and the poached eggs were undercooked. Totally put me off. I have added a photo of what I was served for £8.95. I am not a chef, but I made my own sourdough loaf for approx 50 pence, mashed an avocado and cooked a poached egg. It's really not that difficult. So why do F&Bs serve this crap to people? Valuable lesson learned today. Make homemade sourdough with avocado and a poached eggs and save money. Simple.

I have dined here several times its always been great. Dont understand some of the bad reviews. Had breakfast with my son which was really tasty. Also dined with the full family the pizzas are a good size and very tasty. The desserts well really good i would say they are almost sharing size even for those with a sweet tooth. The last time i was in we were running late for the cinema the server managed to get us seated and served really quickly even though the place was full. This ensured we didnt miss the start of the movie.

Went in for a quick bite to eat, food overall is delicious. However sweet potato fries is just a bowl of mash potato. I’ve visited this establishment a couple times now, but this was certainly the worst. Our server, who is named on our receipt as Iain, was utterly useless. Didn’t smile or show a single ounce of enthusiasm once. When taking the order she seemed to have an attitude about us wanting to share a couple small plates, rather than ordering two main meals. Although we still ended up spending about £40 (after a discount) Was never checked back on during the meal. When given the food, wasn’t asked if we wanted anything else including extra sauces, more drinks, etc. There was no excuse for no check backs as there was plenty staff on and maybe about 5 tables in from us arriving and leaving. Server didn’t even come collect plates until we had to call her over. Ordered a dessert to go, as we had plans to rush off to, took far too long for one dessert. Honestly about 15 minutes. Which for one waffle and a little scoop of ice cream is just a joke. When getting given the bill, still no positive attitude from the server. Still didn’t bother asking if we had enjoyed the food or not even a enjoy the rest of your night or a thank you. To mention as well a young lad who was hanging around near the kitchen most of the time we were there was regularly on his phone in front of customers when there was a dirty table right across from us he could have been cleaning. As a fellow restaurant worker it takes a lot for me to complain as i can understand some shifts are long/ more challenging. But you ALWAYS keep a smile on your face in front of customers and you certainly make sure they have a good time whilst they are there. And just no reason for anyone to be on their phone when everyone can see. Didn’t see our server have any other tables, but could be wrong, but maybe this poor attitude was down to pure homophobia due to a date night with my girlfriend. Also the young lad mentioned previously who was on his phone, when leaving he nearly knocked right into my girlfriend. Didn’t apologise at all, since she’s only small she could have easily gotten knocked about pretty severely. If we are correct about our service being called Iain, please make sure this doesn’t happen again as i would HATE for another LGBTQIA+ couple to feel as victimised as we did this evening. Very disappointed as it is 2024. Perhaps next time we will just order takeout as the food is honestly amazing and worth the price! For thank you to the chefs and ONLY the chefs for making this a somewhat acceptable experience...

Went in thinking I was going to have a nice meal for my birthday with my family turns out I was completely wrong. Sat down everything was fine got our drinks, still everything was fine, until we got brought out our mains, which was weird cause we still didn’t have our starters but that’s fine whatever they said they would re make them. Our wee one’s food comes next everything’s fine there. Starters were fine. Then when our mains came out everything went downhill. Clearly it was the same food they brought out at the start, the chips were freezing cold and had been re-fried, I would know as I’ve worked in plenty hospitality being a manager myself before, the burgers were stale. We got fresh chips, again everything was fine until I cut into my stale burger and found that there was no BBQ sauce on my BBQ BURGER. Server Melanie was clearly embarrassed to come talk to us after the first hiccup of the mains coming out. I ate 1/4 of my burger and stopped as it was not what I ordered, and what I presume was the manager said they would give us discount and took our plates away. At this point I was in tears crying because this was my birthday ruined. It took them around 15 minutes to get a scoop of ice cream onto a brownie and cut 2 slices of banana and put it in a bowl for the wee one, we after our mains didn’t even was to touch the food from there. Got our bill to fine a £70 bill and a 20% discount added for the no food that we ate. At this point our server came over with the bill and I showed a voucher I had been emailed by the company themselves and she proceeded to tell us that we can’t use it with other discounts, which we did not have apart from the 20% the “manager” had put on. She went off again and asked the manager who apparently had now said it was fine. I ended up spending £56.66 after eating no food apart from a small portion of starter and a meal for the wee one. Honestly would’ve had a better meal at Burger King or McDonalds. Will...

Went in today for lunch for my 21st Birthday as I got an email offering me a free main for a birthday treat. Was served by the nice manager (I’m guessing) he was very polite, once served by the waitress who was nice we agreed to order on the website so it was much easier for us and perhaps the staff too, however my mum decided to order from the lunch menu using the waitress and ordered a chicken wrap, however when the food came she got a beef wrap instead which we thought maybe the waitress misheard as the music was really loud in there we could hardly hear ourselves talking, my mum told the waitress kindly how she wanted the chicken and the waitress said “you said beef but alright I’ll change it” and took it to the kitchen, after about 20 - 25 mins we ate our food my mum was still waiting for her wrap and asked the waitress how long the wrap will take which the waitress started an argument which went back and forth giving attitude and ended up in “whatever” and walking away and leaving the manager to serve us who was an absolute sweetheart. Once my mum got her wrap it was cold and we just decided to leave in peace after paying. I understood the miscommunication here and understand the stress put on hospitality staff but when you make a mistake or miscommunication happens an argument should never be the case. I just hope the waitress is ok after this situation as it was all a...
