A Refined Expression of Anatolian Grilling in Aberdeen
Located along Aberdeen’s Beach Boulevard, Muzo’s Turkish Kitchen presents a dining experience rooted in traditional Turkish hospitality, offering thoughtfully prepared dishes with particular strength in its grilled offerings. While the setting is modest, the culinary execution reflects a clear sense of pride, precision, and purpose.
The atmosphere is casual yet warm, with service that is courteous and well-timed. Staff are attentive and accommodating, particularly with families — an appreciated gesture that enhances the overall comfort of the experience.
For our younger diner, we ordered the chicken nuggets and chips — a dish often overlooked — but it was notably well-executed. The nuggets were freshly prepared, with a crisp, golden coating encasing moist, well-seasoned chicken. The chips were hand-cut, lightly salted, and fried to an appealing texture, striking a delicate balance between softness and crunch.
The highlight of the evening, however, was the Mixed Grill Platter, which showcased the kitchen’s command of open-flame cooking. The selection included lamb chops, chicken shish, adana kebab, and lamb kofta — each distinct in character, yet unified by the quality of the marinade and the precise control of the grill.
The lamb chops were seared to an impeccable medium, boasting a robust outer char that gave way to tender, succulent meat with a delicate layer of rendered fat. The chicken shish was marinated in a classic blend of yogurt, paprika, and lemon, yielding a deep, smoky flavour profile with a hint of citrus and spice.
The adana kebab, formed from finely minced lamb, was assertive in seasoning — rich with red pepper, sumac, and subtle chili heat — while the kofta offered a gentler profile, laced with herbs and mild aromatics. Both were grilled evenly and served piping hot, exuding the unmistakable aroma of charcoal.
The platter was accompanied by buttery rice pilaf, grilled vegetables — including sweet peppers and onions, their skins blistered and fragrant — and a crisp mixed salad dressed simply with lemon and olive oil, providing a welcome counterpoint to the richness of the meats.
In sum, Muzo’s Turkish Kitchen offers cuisine of substance and integrity. The kitchen displays a clear understanding of balance and flavour, without the distraction of unnecessary embellishment. While unpretentious in presentation, the cooking speaks to a high standard — one that values tradition, technical skill, and guest satisfaction.

Read moreToday the food was first class as always. However I didn’t feel very welcome both on arrival and exit. Not sure why. I think it may have to do with the fact that having reserved a table for 3 about 4 days prior, I arrived and there seemed to be some confusion about the fact that I reserved a table. I was just given a choice of any table. It genuinely looks trivial but when you consider that it was supposed to be a special occasion, arriving and being made to feel like a show-off for thinking to book a table at all is a thing worthy of public commentary and deliberation. The big things are in the small things or at least have their origins there.
We eventually ended up with a table close to the door which opened and close with the full cold draft of the beach outside as it was one they showed to us in encouragement to choose.
On exit, as if the awkwardness was insufficient, for some inexplicable reason the card machine they brought to me to pay with did not accept my card. I only paid successfully after I used Apple Pay with same card on the same machine. Quite weird if you ask me.
All I did for all this rigmarole was choose to ignore all the restaurants in Aberdeen and call up to reserve a table at the Turkish Restaurant at the Aberdeen beach. Ever since we had been going there and just walked in without any prior bookings, I never experienced any such problem.
I just called and reserved and my luck changed suddenly. I just thought there is no way this can’t be public.

Read moreJust discovered this incredible restaurant (it has been open for 5 years! unbeknownst to me!). Walking in, you almost enter Turkey - its bright, welcoming, friendly, spacious, very beautifully lit and well organised. There is a quiet hum of happy diners along with staff who are appropriately attentive (opposed to overly) with excellent communication with the diners and each other. This is a well- run establishment which appears to have the sole aim of ensuring each customer's dining experience is not only faultless but exemplary. The menu is one of those which causes the problem of choosing from an array of tempting dishes. Clearly written descriptions, images which resemble what you order with enough variations to suit every taste and all dietary requirements. The food is generous, flavoursome and beautifully presented. Your tastebuds will tingle and come alive with the freshness and honesty of the ingredients - no cutting of corners at all. The staff are wonderful. If you want to chat, they will, or you might want to have a more intimate dining experience. All ages, cultures, couples, groups, work nights catered for with all diners experiencing a personal and peaceful meal. This really is a find for all of the above reasons and more of the same. This is one restaurant I would urge you visit - you will return too! Thank you to the proprietors and staff for providing restaurant dining not only as it should be, but...
