We went on Tuesday to see a horror movie. Overall, it was fine and I’d go back again, mainly because there’s a big free car park and it’s convenient to get to. There were very few people that night, which was nice in a way. However, I did notice that the staff seemed more focused on chatting with each other than actually working. I went to buy a snack before the film — one girl served a customer and then walked away to talk to someone, even though I was clearly approaching the till. I had to call out that I wanted to order. It’s strange, especially when it’s not busy. I get that it might not be the most exciting job, but still... Another odd thing — nobody checked our tickets at all. I honestly could’ve brought a few friends or even underage kids in for free! Then, when the adverts finished and the film started, the lights stayed on. One of the audience members actually had to get up, go and ask to switch them off. In general, there’s nothing seriously wrong with the place, just small details that could be improved. I’d still go again and encourage others to visit — cinema visita are always fun. But when we left, we also didn’t see any staff around. Maybe that’s normal, or maybe it’s just me...
Read moreUnfortunately I've had a bad experience with Cineworld recently. I booked online for a showing the following the following day with my children, and when we arrived they informed me it had been booked for the day before! Obviously a glitches on the system ad they informed me that "this has happened alot" so I had to pay again to watch the movie that day! But I was informed of a full refund of the tickets they charged me for already as I hadn't collected them. So I wait over 2 weeks.... nothing. I email them and all I kept getting back was there was no record of me on the system. I then phone the head office, and they still can't find me! I paid with PayPal so they tell me they will get their manager to check it for them and I will get a refund in 3 days! That was over a week ago! Really disappointed and upsetting they just seem to have no interest in refunding...
Read moreThis place is a lottery each visit
Good things:
Location Parking is massive and free Clean Lots of good shops nearby including places to eat Upstairs cafe is always good each visit
Bad:
Expensive food/drink
50/50 chance of having inconsiderate people ruining entire experience by phone/talking/noise from eating, food packaging rustling.
Cineworld doesn’t seem to ever police their cinemas for people ruining everyone else’s experience.
They are very apologetic when you walk out but that’s too late. I never want to return but there’s always a film I want to see but almost always disappointed by the experience due to other cinema goers ruining it.
A no food no talking viewing would be good but will never happen.
Wish they would release new films to view at home so we could completely...
