Came in earlier today for lunch with my friend and started off with okay service and nice iced coffee. However, when the food came i was really disappointed, my friend's food was okay but i had ordered the ham, cheese and caramelised onion ciabatta and when it came it had a couple cut up bits of ham in tiny pieces and a few sprinkles of cheese and an absolute heap of what was meant to be caramelised onion but was very vinegary and didn't taste correct and completely overpowered it, i was unable to eat most of it even after scraping out most of the onion. During our meal at not one point did any staff member check back on us even though there was only four tables in, and even after the staff members walked past our table and saw my plate no one stopped to ask if anything was okay. We went up to pay and was not asked how our meal was and was just asked to pay so i felt uncomfortable saying anything about it and left having payed £21 for something i didn't eat. I then tried to phone up to let them know just for future customers coming in to check back on them and was answered by a very rude and hostile 'manager', at no point was i apologised to but i was told instead it was my fault for not speaking up, and was then told "i've worked in hospitality for 10 years" by the MANAGER which i think was very rude, it was a very hostile conversation with again not one apology for our experience. I'm never normally one to complain and i just suck up what i've been given but after this experience i definitely...

This was our first visit here and hopefully our experience was just more bad luck than anything else. Was bright and spacious inside and only moderately busy with plenty of tables left inside and out. The menu choice looked great with range of hot and cold food and drinks. We went for two cokes, two coffees and two breakfast rolls. Even chanced it with having a lemon muffin between us. Drinks came out quickly and were nice. Muffin arrived shortly after then a bit too quickly our breakfast rolls arrived. I took a bite and sadly the egg had a texture almost like it had been fried in water and sausages were barely warm and worse, the black pudding was barely cooked with the centre cold and raw. My partners roll was the same with everything far too underdone and barely warm. We decided we couldn’t eat them so moved to our drinks and muffin. Drinks were all fine but the muffin was comparable to a doorstop. Not sure if it had been out for a a few days or if they freeze them, and it wasn’t quite defrosted but it was really dense and just crumbled when we went to try a piece. Again, totally inedible. The waiter and then manager/owner came over to apologise and took the food items off our bill. He offered to remove everything from the bill but we insisted on paying for the drinks as they were absolutely fine. Two coffees and two cokes came to £14.60. As good as the service and atmosphere was there are definitely quality control issues here or maybe we were just...

In Monday 26th Feb first time. Family of four adults. First impressions walking in the door, nice.

Then, Ar**y young waitress (twice), didn't like that. No coleslaw, just nope, we dont do that. Ciabatta plate average at best as judged by two of the four who ordered it. Two cooked breakfasts were OK, nothing special. Come to think of it, the tattie scone was missing off both plates! Sadly the black pudding was like a hockey puck in taste and texture. Lieing under a hot light on standby I think. That experience cost us £45. Didn't leave a tip, felt bad as the Eastern European waitress was absolutely lovely. Won't be back.

Edit after owner reply- The missing tattie scones were not thought of until writing the review. The average ciabatta sandwiches and absent coleslaw came to light when I asked my wife & daughter what they thought as we later walked the front. Same for the unengaged waitress who'd rather have been somewhere else. All 4 noticed the 'tude'.

The single coffee off the bill, while appreciated doesn't make up for the flaws. It's not my job to brace you fully on your business when i am out with my family. That's your job to monitor performance and act on it to ensure your customers want to return. You really should as it pulled the experience down.

Reading other reviews there is a theme, subpar food & service. Not exactly getting it done in a cafe...

Personally one of the best place to eat, both at the beach and in Aberdeen as a whole. The interior is well decorated but, obviously, the food is also delicious! We usually go there in the morning for brunch; their savoury and crispy sausages and soft but well toasted roll, always makes a great combination for a morning roll full of flavour and texture. Their menu is also pretty extensive with a selections of Scottish breakfast, panini's, and salads so I would definitely recommend a visit if you're at the beach or nearby!

Came in just myself and enjoyed my time. The place was clean and the staff were always making sure to clear/reset tables quickly. Staff were friendly and joked with the guests. I had a hot chocolate and a traybake and it’s clear they are made freshly. I would recommend this place to anyone who was visiting both Aberdeen and the beachfront

Was my first time visiting the pier and was good to be in a place since the easing of social distancing and such like, but still very much felt safe and content. The staff were amazing service was quick and the food was great too. The menu had a great selection to choose from and lots of different daily choices to pick from too.
