We all love technology. It is great. But sometimes it is also not so great. Case in point...places that use apps to order food. It might be the worst thing ever invented and this comes from someone who generally doesn't mind limited human contact in daily life.
Log-in, sign-up, accept cookies...give me a break, I just want someone to come along and take my order. This is just a classic example of good technology being used in a terrible way.
Now try ordering for a table of nine people. I have been to socialist counties and seen real bureaucracy, mountains of pointless paperwork for the most menial of tasks that have been less onerous than simply ordering food in a restaurant.
Maybe I am just old and jaded and shouting at the clouds. Maybe I am just a cynic who is not willing to move with the times.
But maybe I am also right and the time has come for a revolution. We must resist these obvious attempts to cut costs and pass on the work to the customers. Have the prices come down? Are we getting paid to do the job? Is the service improving? We say NO!
And then they have they cheek to ask for a tip! I had to complete a computer game to get a pizza.
Enough of this shenanigans.
In a separate note...the...
Read moreWow! I am in SHOCK! I remember when Pizza hut was a great place to eat. Prices are through the ROOF!! The cost of most large Pizzas are easily £30+ (and honestly don't look that large) All drinks £3.50+ (even a bottle of water 🤯)
No version of service in the place WHATSOEVER. Everything is self-service now. Scan a QR code on the table to do your order. Pay over the online webpage. Pay the extraordinary high prices to then be asked if you want to leave a TIP!!! A Tip for what exactly? To move a pizza from one counter to the next??
Quality of food? One pizza was alright. The other was overcooked. Pepperoni crispy from overcooking. Cheesy bites not so cheesy and they were more just hard overcooked cheese.
OVERALL! Very disappointed. I can't see that I would want to be visiting Pizza hut ever again, I'm surprised the place hasn't gone out of business. DOMINOS or other companies are doing better options.
Soon as you enter, you get greeted and told they only accept card. (CASH IS KING) Place felt pretty empty for a Friday...
Read moreDisappointed by our visit here at PH Aberdeen beach, first time at this restaurant, we usually go to our more local PH in Dundee Kingsway which seems like a palace compared to this one. Our experience yesterday at the Aberdeen beach PH was not up to the usual good standards we enjoy in Dundee. The salad bar was pitiful, not much food left and it was not being replenished. The cutlery was filthy, even the freshly brought bunch of cutlery brought to our table, so needed to select the best of the bunch, but still dirty. Ordering system via a QR code was OK, although couldn't easily find the pasta options that were on the menu. Staff were polite and pleasant, and were busy all the time as it was a busy time of day where the restaurant was full. We both had the lasagne, which tasted nice, but was not big portions, and certainly not worth over £13 per lasagne, so poor value for money for what you get. On the upside, the self-serve juice (bottomless juice option) was good and...
