I made a purchase on Thursday for 3 pizzas and tried to use a code from the Unidays app, for 50% off when you spend more than £20. At the time of payment, I didn't realize that the code had not been processed correctly, despite having entered the code and clicked "apply". I quickly called the restaurant and asked them what I could do. The person who answered told me that nothing could be done at that point because I had already paid, and that I had to send an email. So, that's what I did. I sent an email and the person who assisted me was Michael from Pizza Hut Customer Care.
After I explained what had happened, he told me that I should have cancelled the order, requested a refund, and then placed the order again using the code. I explained what the person at the restaurant had told me, but Michael said he couldn't do anything and then signed off with, "Thanks for taking the time to get in touch and we hope to see you again."
Now I ask myself, is Michael okay? Is he sane? How can you say that to someone who is having a problem because of the restaurant's website and the bad advice from the staff, and who had to spend £70 on 3 pizzas that arrived cold? "Thank you very much and we hope to see you again soon"? It's obvious that everything he says is from a script, that he doesn't think for himself. For that, they might as well just have an AI do his job; at least it would have a bit more common sense.
After his wonderful final message, I obviously replied expressing my dissatisfaction, to which I have not received a response, nor do I expect one. Personally, this is the last time I will order anything from Pizza Hut, and I would recommend to my acquaintances not to do so either, as they would be exposing themselves to a system that is apparently not prepared for...

Read moreWent in to use a coupon given to me and a friend during Fresher's week for a £5 pizza with specific toppings in October of last year. Cashier was very rude to us, asking if the coupon was real (it was, it had been folded to fit it in my wallet). Atmosphere was generally very hostile. Wouldn't reccomend, especially considering there are better takeaway shops on the same street for similar prices. Pizza was fine, wouldn't have paid more...
