The Grill — Restaurant in Aberdeen City

Love the fact that Aberdeen has this traditional pub with some beautiful features. Huge selection of drinks, especially whisky if you like it. Great to see some more mature bar staff serving and all staff are friendly, professional and know all about the drinks. I got a little bottle of prosecco which was lovely. Whilst we were sitting down next to the door, we had some friendly interesting characters join us for a chat and at one point we were joined by a stag party of 10 men. (we're both female) a pub for all ages. I remember when this place didn't have a toilet (you can Google this for more historic info) happy that there is one upstairs now, but it looks and smells like it's used by men also as there were urine stains all over the floor and a a strong smell. Went out with a few lads from work and a couple of the lads wanted to sample a whisky or two. So we headed to The Grill in Union Street. I was out with 3 good scottish lads and myself from South of the Border. The is a very old fashioned pub with great character and the biggest selection of whiskeys i have seen. The staff are very friendly and knowledgible knowing their whiskey. One of the lads lived near the Tomatin Distillery, so we went for a Tomatin 12 years old dram with a touch of water and very good it was too, great choice. Finished with a good pint of Tennants. Good old time pub. One of tge oldest in Aberdeen. Unfortunately it would seem the gents toilet smells as old as the pub. Disgusting smell even at lunchtime. You would think it had never been cleaned. However the bar itself boasts a huge range of malt whiskey and spirits. The decor is a throwback from a bygone age which is really good. Overall good all round bar which also serves hot snacks.

However I have just returned to Aberdeen after 4 years and once again visited this great pub. Glad to say that the toilets have been greatly improved. Service and selection of drinks was amazing. Would give it...
