We had driven quite some way and were very hungry when we arrived in Lavenham. Tatum's was the first tearoom we saw and were happy with the menu. We just wanted a sandwich. The tea and milkshake arrived promptly and they were good. I had a cheese and chutney sandwich my partner had the bacon and brie panini . It was not good. The bread was dry on my sandwich. The bacon in the panini was grey. The salad consisted of some limp leaves and a segment of tomato. It was very disappointing. Before the response of "we should have said at the time". We were just too fed up by the lack of care of the food and tired from our journey. It was £23 in total. Please try harder. A little dressing on the salad. Even some seasoning. Fresh bread. It all felt loveless and mediocre. We saw other tearooms further into the town. Maybe they...

I visited Tatum’s Teahouse for the first time today with my Niece and her two children, what an absolute pleasure it was. The sandwiches were superb made from fresh local bread and extremely well filled with tuna & cucumber, beautiful ham, egg mayonnaise and gated cheese & pickle. Fresh homemade fruit scones served with jam & clotted cream which melted in your mouth, we were also asked to choose a homemade cake of our choice. This was all served up very elegantly along with a bottomless pot of tea, to say we were stuffed is an understatement!!! Staff were warm, welcoming and friendly, they were also really patient and welcoming of the children too. The premises were beautifully presented, well maintained and spotlessly clean. Well done Tatum’s, we will...

Afternoon Tea at Tatum’s Tea rooms in Lavenham highly recommend. Went as a birthday treat with him, loved the idea of choosing the sandwich as well as the cakes. So it arrived on a three tier stand sandwich’s, sausage rolls, a little salad, then two very large scones with strawberry jam and clotted cream, then cakes and macaroons with some fresh strawberries, raspberries and blueberries. Could not finish the cakes so they were boxed up and brought home. And unlimited tea. The service from the staff were excellent and very professional, this was the second time for both of us visiting. We will be back...

This place deserves a 4 stars but I only give 3 as a few items from the menu had run out. I find this upsetting as I always end up by choosing something I wouldn't have had in the first place. The lady serving us was a lovely host but had she told us what was missing when giving us the menu, I would have marked it 4 stars. Still, it is a lovely, quaint place and -wait for itr- delicious cakes, gateaux, Danish pastry...etc.

Wow, such lovely cakes 😍 we had lunch here a couple of weeks ago, which was really nice. As we were visiting Lavenham again, we came back for cakes this time. They were amazing! Between us we had a caramel shortbread (gluten free and tasted as good as a regular one), coffee & walnut, chocolate and Victoria sponge - we recommend them all! The staff are also very nice & friendly and the tearoom has a lovely atmosphere.

This is an amazing traditional British tea room. The food is really good and the prices are nice compared to others in the area. The cake was nice and moist and I can definitely tell it was homemade which is what you look for at a tea room. The atmosphere is great and well themed however it might be challenging for some people to walk up the steep stairs so it’s nice to see seating downstairs for those who need it.
