After reading Tonicha Cottle’s review last month, I had to try the "best hot chocolate in Bath" and the chocolate cake with sea salt for myself. I can now confirm—it really is the best hot chocolate I’ve had in the UK. And that chocolate cake? It’s officially a must-have every time I visit Bath. I’ve always believed the best part of a hot chocolate is the creamy foam on top, and luckily, this one delivered: half the cup was thick, chocolatey foam. The drink underneath was just as impressive—not overly sweet, but rich and perfectly balanced. I loved the comforting texture, topped off with granulated brown sugar and a dusting of cocoa powder. The chocolate cake was a revelation. I wasn’t sure what to expect from a salted chocolate cake, but the icing had the most delicious salty-sweet contrast. I’m now on a mission to recreate it at home. I also had a salad for my main, and since the menu changes daily, I made sure to savour every bite. I was the last one at the table to finish, mostly because I didn’t want it to end. From the first salad leaf to the very last seed I could chase with my fork—it was all incredible. Aside from the food, I also wanted to mention the warmth and care Maria showed to my family. It was my first time at her cafĆ©, though my relatives in Bath are regulars. My grandmother had passed away the night before our visit, so we definitely weren’t at our best. Maria greeted my aunt with such kindness and made sure my grandfather knew he was always welcome there to continue his and my grandmother’s daily ritual of doing puzzles and drinking coffee. Having never met Maria before, I was genuinely moved by her compassion and the way she cared for my family. I’m so grateful we have the honour of knowing her—and enjoying her food. So to Maria: thank you. And to everyone else reading this: whatever you order, it will be perfect—and don’t skip dessert!

What a fantastic little find ! Maria the Colombian owner is so friendly and warm . The menu changes every day and there is always soup, a salad and a main course available. Maria cooks food like you would do at home. The food is prepared in the side kitchen as you relax. We had a salad which was full of really interesting ingredients and combinations that I’ve not had before. It was absolutely delicious. We also followed with slow cooked pork with potatoes and spinach. We wolfed it down! I think the concept is to take your time and enjoy but it was all too good! We will definitely be returning and it is our new favourite and we will be highly recommending it to all our foodie friends! Thanks Maria!

This was my first time visiting but I will be sure to visit whenever I am in Bath. The cafe is small and the menu is limited (for warm food at least) but what it lacks in abundance it makes up for in quality (and I honestly wish more places had this mindset) Maria is extremely warm, welcoming and attentive. I had the vegetable soup which was delicious and followed it off with the hot chocolate and the chocolate and salt cake on the advice of a previous review and I have to say it was possibly the best hot chocolate I have had and the icing on the cake was to die for. I look forward to returning in the future to try the rest of the cakes.

What an absolute gem! If you enjoy good food ( freshly cooked and served by Maria) you can find no better! There are so many places to eat in Bath but GO SLOW AND ENJOY stands out as being quite unique. From the excellent choice of freshly ground coffee - no surprise as Maria being Colombian knows a thing or two about coffee beans - to the exquisitely flavoured food the whole visit was just a delight. The first surprise was the low number of tables - just three, so service is swift and personable. We asked for a menu when we arrived - second surprise. No menu - all to the good as it is freshly cooked using seasonal ingredients and what Maria feels into cooking on the day. We had a choice of a meat dish, fish (served with vegetables or rice) or salad or soup: plenty to cater for all tastes. I had sauted pork (wonderfully succulent) and vegetables, beautifully seasoned - with charred lettuce, not normally a favourite but it was a delicious accompaniment to the meal. The cake and another coffee was a lovely way to finish off the meal. And all very reasonably priced. Despite only 3 tables the atmosphere was warm and comfortable - like being in an old friend's kitchen. Maria was welcoming and she can be very proud of her creation with its fresh decor. It has been a long held ambition of hers to have her own place and her fierce passion for cooking comes through. We will definitely be going back! Long may she be there to follow her dream! PS The cafe does take away too - just popped in to collect a cappuccino and cinnamon buns - delicious especially with the topping with its unique...

This place is awesome! The menu changes daily and seems to always have a soup, salad and warm dish, as well as cakes, coffees, soft drinks and mocktails. Today, we ordered the creamy cold cauliflower/broccoli soup, which was served with a big handful of fresh spinach and parmesan on top, and the salmon pasta: pasta cooked in a coconut milk sauce (I think!), with spinach and onions, and a generous piece of salmon on top, and crispy almond flakes to finish it off. Honestly, the most delicious thing I've eaten in a very long time! I really loved it. The salmon was cooked perfectly, seasoned well and very juicy, and it went really well with the pasta flavours. I could tell the other guests who chose the salmon were loving it as much as I did ā˜ŗļø The soup was also very tasty, with a nutty and fresh taste to it. The food was served with a delicious complimentary salad that included avocado, mango, tomatoes and a zingy dressing. We also ordered ginger beer, dirty chai lattes and three different cakes (tres leches, coconut cake and carrot cake) and everything was delicious. Owner Maria is lovely and very welcoming, and makes you feel like you're eating at a friend's house ā˜ŗļø A wonderful cafe - highly recommend! We're already fantasising what might be on the menu the next time we visit. Thank you so much for the wonderful lunch, Maria! Hopefully...
