This is my favourite café in all of Bath. I love this café. It is stunning inside. The service is great. The food is great. I love everything about BTP Alfred Street. Except one thing. I'm very, very, very sad that they have virtually omitted avocado from the menu. The only way you can obtain avocado is by ordering it with smoked salmon. I used to always order the Smashed Avocado on Sourdough with poached egg. This has been replaced with Smashed Peas on Sourdough with poached egg. The menu explains that this is a 'more sustainable version' of my favourite Avocado on Toast. I'm not sure about the sustainability thing but peas mashed with almonds does not equal avocado. The smashed peas are cold and do not have that smooth texture. Having warm toast and warm poached eggs with cold peas in the middle sadly is not a substitute for my old favourite. Also worth mentioning is that one can no longer order avocado as a side dish. Please bring back avocado. Thank you.

If Brunch is in the question, then there is no question of where I chose to go! I LOVEEEEE this venue it's so light and airy and spacious and relaxing but also exciting with the chatter of everyone enjoying their food and company. Vegan options are am absolute 10/10 !! Its so refreshing to see things that aren't just the same old stuff, like scrambled sweetcorn ?! Bring it on (so delicious btw) and a smashed pea and almond toast (I am in need of recreating this!) I had to buy myself a slice of coffee cake before I left too because... I simply could not RESIST and I am so glad I did because it was even better than I expected and my expectations were pretty high after the brunch set the bar!! Not to mention how absolutelyyyyy lovely the staff were, I wanna be friends with them all low key hahaha!! They made us feel so at home. Next time I'm back in bath I will be back here too!

Went here for a breakfast based on the reviews! We were not disappointed at all! Ambience food and service all on point! They happily replaced ham with bacon on our eggs Benedict! Food was delicious, best hash browns we have ever had ! Usually you find breakfast places just use the frozen hash browns but these definitely were cooked in house! So crispy and flavourful! Loved the overall seasoning on the eggs Benedict! Coffee was good as well There was some mix up with our order due to which they forgot bacon when we informed the cafe staff they happily took it back and brought it back with bacon! During the wait the staff came over to apologise for the mistake and offered us tea/coffee on the house which we didn’t realise ! When we went to pay for the extra coffee they didn’t take the money for it! This is good customer service and makes you feel valued as a customer!

What a lovely cafe BTP Alfred Street is! The staff are absolutely lovely, so friendly and accommodating. There’s a particularly lovely person who does the greeting when you come in, and shows you to your table, who is so nice and smiley. It doesn’t look big from the street, but the building goes back a long way so it’s actually a really large space.

The breakfasts are really lovely (the Boss Breakfast is huge!) and the ingredients like the sausages and bacon feel really good quality. I’ve also had a ham and cheese toastie here which came with fries, I felt this was great value. Drinks are also delicious and from time to time when I’ve been, they’ve had samples of things to try (like the iced tea, which is lovely!). They are ever so friendly to people visiting with young children, and they have high chairs - parents and children are made to feel completely welcome so it’s a lovely spot if you have a little one with you. I think they also have colouring things and books for children which is so sweet.

The only criticism I would have is that the loos aren’t the best - they’re quite small and cramped (not the cafe’s fault, just how the building is!) and sometimes they’ve been a bit messy or run out of loo paper, perhaps due to how busy it can be. But it’s still such a great cafe that caters to a wide variety of tastes, with a really friendly and...

If you're looking for the perfect place to start your day, this coffee shop is an absolute gem. I visit every single day, and it’s always the highlight of my morning. The atmosphere is warm, inviting, and cozy, making it the ideal spot to enjoy a cup of coffee.

Steph, the manager, is truly amazing. She runs the shop with such care and attention, always ensuring everything is perfect and that every customer feels like a regular. Her friendly and approachable demeanor makes each visit feel personal and special. Whether it's a quick chat or simply her remembering my usual order, she makes the experience that much more enjoyable.

Sam and the entire team are also fantastic. They are always so friendly and efficient, making sure your coffee is exactly how you like it. It’s clear that they work really well together, and the positive energy is contagious. They always go above and beyond, making me feel welcome every time I walk in.

The quality of the coffee is outstanding – consistently delicious, rich, and made with care. Whether you’re grabbing a quick espresso or lingering with a latte, you’ll never be disappointed. This coffee shop truly feels like home, thanks to Steph, Sam, and the wonderful team that make it all happen. If you haven’t been yet, do yourself a favor and check it out—you...

On first impressions, I thought this was a lovely place and that I would become a regular visitor, especially as it opened till nine o'clock in the week. The chap who served me was very obliging when I asked for gluten-free toast. I asked for my toast well done. Unfortunately, when it arrived, it was hardly toasted so I asked if it could be toasted for a tad longer. I heard the waitress who brought it out asking the waitress out the back what was wrong. I could hear her shout "She sent it back, she sent it back!". When the serving waitress came back, I asked her if there was a problem with my order. She blushed and said the kitchen were just clarifying my order. My family had had a very traumatic weekend at the time as my mum was seriously ill at the time, and three days before the hospital had rung to say she had a fifty-fifty chance of survival. (Luckily she pulled through at the time). So the waitress incident was something I could really have done without. My Dad told me to write a letter of complaint but I thought it sufficient to never go back there again. I note from the reviews the BTP have a high staff turnover, so the culprit may well have...
