What a lovely cafe BTP Alfred Street is! The staff are absolutely lovely, so friendly and accommodating. There’s a particularly lovely person who does the greeting when you come in, and shows you to your table, who is so nice and smiley. It doesn’t look big from the street, but the building goes back a long way so it’s actually a really large space.

The breakfasts are really lovely (the Boss Breakfast is huge!) and the ingredients like the sausages and bacon feel really good quality. I’ve also had a ham and cheese toastie here which came with fries, I felt this was great value. Drinks are also delicious and from time to time when I’ve been, they’ve had samples of things to try (like the iced tea, which is lovely!). They are ever so friendly to people visiting with young children, and they have high chairs - parents and children are made to feel completely welcome so it’s a lovely spot if you have a little one with you. I think they also have colouring things and books for children which is so sweet.

The only criticism I would have is that the loos aren’t the best - they’re quite small and cramped (not the cafe’s fault, just how the building is!) and sometimes they’ve been a bit messy or run out of loo paper, perhaps due to how busy it can be. But it’s still such a great cafe that caters to a wide variety of tastes, with a really friendly and relaxing atmosphere.
