A nice park to walk around with some amazing views and interesting things to see. There is a bandstand, play park, lots of places to sit and what looks like a look out tower from below. The kids play park has a good range of things to play on to keep them entertained for a while. There is a drinking water fountain (not in use) but still interesting to see. All the trees are labeled so you can see what type of tree it is that your looking at. This park is on a steep hill wich in some places the paths can be steep to although not to bad as they zigzag all the way up but for someone not as mobile as others may fined it a bit difficult. There is no toilets.

Small park on a hillside, with an interesting history outlined on the information boards near the entrances. The elevated position provides some good views over the city, and the large trees mean there's plenty of shade on a hot sunny day. The tower built into the wall is an unusual feature. Benches are located around the park, though some of the paths are steep so won't suit everybody. No café or toilet facilities in the park, but there is a small play area.

Hedgemead Park is a small and quiet park overlooking the city of Bath. A lovely spot to bring a book and sit yourself down. There are stairs going from the top to the bottom, bringing you from Alpine Gardens directly into the hustle and bustle of Bath. Lovely!

I thought I knew Hedgemead, but I suppose I mainly passed by so much, I assumed I knew it.

I thought I could gain access from the stepped alleyway, and I could, but only after climbing to near the top level. Lower entry points would help.

Fortunately, there were plenty of lower exits not connected to the stepped alleyway, although none of these were visible from London Road.

Once inside though, there is no shortage of benches to sit upon (this is what I was after, to eat & reflect in comfort), plenty of litter bins, and lots of paths. There are also various curiosities, such as stone buttresses, a castellated tower, and a pagoda; and I'm sure many more.

An information board promises a bandstand, swings &c, and a community vegetable garden.

The info board also says the park used to be housing, which suffered landslides so was demolished. This begs the question of whether there are cellars and tunnels under the park, like there are in Castle Park in Bristol, which has a...
