Firstly the staff were really polite and pleasant so 5 stars to them. We started off with some 2 for 1 cocktails and they were nice and priced OK. Next we ordered 3 small starters to share which were nice. Then we ordered our mains. Firstly, it seemed to take forever to bring the meal out considering the place only had a handful of customers as it was a Monday night. I ordered steak and fries with peas and my partner ordered mac and cheese with shredded chicken in a sauce. When the food eventually came the 2 sides of onion rings and cheesy garlic bread looked nice and tasted nice enough but the garlic bread slices could of been a little more toasted as it felt more like uncooked bread. The steak was cooked well but by time I got it, it was luke warm and a little chewy. My partners mac and cheese was hardly touched, the mac and cheese was not particularly flavoursome and the shredded chicken in the sweet pepper sauce was just cubes of chicken, not shredded. It felt like they had used pre frozen chicken cubes and just mixed them in the sauce, which if they did then it is quite lazy and not as advertised (shredded). It certainly tasted like formed frozen chicken as opposed to fresh chicken shredded. It's a pity about the food, but we only requested a refund for my partners main course, I would have requested mine also but I ate it as i was hungry due to taking quite a while to be prepared. Unfortunately, we would not revisit again.

I’ve been to the Slug & Lettuce in Bath on each of my last three visits, and it’s always been a reliable stop. This time around was no different — the atmosphere was the same as usual, and because it wasn’t busy, service was fine with no issues. I only went for cocktails on this visit, and they were decent. The buy-one-get-one-free deal makes it especially good value — £13.65 gets you two cocktails, which is hard to argue with in Bath. Nothing particularly stood out either way, but it did exactly what I expected. A solid choice for a few drinks in the city. I’d recommend it and will definitely return myself.

I took my mum here for her Birthday this October, after hearing good things about the place. We opted for a savoury style afternoon tea, and it was great! I love the diversity and the idea of it, and I couldn't have enjoyed it more! Me and mum fought the beast and won! It was very filling, and very delicious! I would say it feeds 2/3 people, is a really good price and the staff were absolutely lovely! Loved the interior too! We had a side of 'sex on the beach' at 2 for 1 and a very happy birthday gal at the end! I liked it so much, I'm bringing my husband back when we see The Darkness next month! 😁😂

I have never ever had such a poor experience, We travelled from Devon for my future daughter in law's hen do. We had to pre order 3 months plus in advance, when we arrived I ordered a gin , I was the first there and shown to our table ( by after I found out by one of the managers! )which was booked for 17 people but laid for 15 !! We physically could not fit as we were already squeezed in!!! So we had to ask for another table and more chairs !! Again we had to ask for extra cutlery! We waited over an hour for our drinks !! Yet they put Prosecco on the table that they were so proud about !! With No glasses or the drinks we had ordered !! They then come over with only 10 glasses for 17 people!! Really!! The waitress then arrived and told us 2 of the pre ordered food wasn't available ! I then asked to speak to the manager! Who said it wasn't his fault ! And had 6 people to serve 60 people ! There were 37 people in the room and told me other parties had had their pre ordered food . I pointed out as a manager that was his problem not mine! They knew the pre orders, they did the rota's . He over saw everything so how was this my problem ? He offered to give us 3 more bottles for free and wipe our drinks bill a totally fax of cocktails gin and wine, when my gin arrived 1hr &15 mins after ordering I had no ice no lemon no nothing !! 1 hour and 40 mins late EVERYTHING was stone cold ! I asked the manager if he thought that was acceptable and did he think it was ? He offered to have it RE HEATED!!! My comment was seriously!!! All the others had issues and then my future daughter in law marched off to find someone down stairs and ended up in the kitchen !! This place is a farce!! And ran badly , we then left without paying for anything . My future daughter in laws night was Ruined!! I would rate this place and the management at a minus if I could, I felt very sorry for all the staff that were working under a lot of pressure and had to deal with lots of complaints that night from lots of tables. I would never go in a Slug and Lettuce...

Quiet Monday evening meal with the family (one child under 2).

Ordered my wife a cocktail, only to be told that they didn't have one of the base ingredients (common to several other cocktails, even though it was not clear anywhere on/around the bar area that this was 'sold out') - fair enough, an alternative was ordered.

Next came the food. Ordering this took... an age. There seemed to be no children's menus available at the venue, so downloaded from website. Ordered child's dinner (and our own, although these turned out to be OK) and returned to our table.

When the meals arrived, my child's gravy portion (served in a chipped jug) was stone cold and congealed (clearly from the fridge), and the tiny serving of mashed potato was so rubbery that you could (she did) stand a fork up in it. Much went to waste.

We then waited... 40 minutes in what was basically an empty dining room for our plates to be removed and the little-one's pudding (some sort of strawberry smoothie/ice cream) to be brought over. A further ten minutes passed before the flustered waitress brought over a huge bowl of tinned fruit cocktail put this down on the move and walked away without another word. This was, needless to say, not what was ordered/expected.

We promptly left the venue and rectified the unfortunate experience with an ice cream from a...
